Tyler Reddick’s son Beau was elated at the race’s outcome when the checkered flag was waved at Homestead-Miami. During the now-customary photo op with the playoff grid, the boy was seen taking the sticker with his father’s name on it and carefully applying it to the board with pride. It’s fair to say that the 23XI Racing driver’s son is also his biggest fan, but Beau Reddick also has other drivers he is fond of across NASCAR’s three national series.

When asked about Beau Reddick’s favorite drivers, the regular season Cup Series champion revealed a surprising name from the Truck Series while explaining his son’s mixed emotions regarding Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin.

Tyler Reddick is on a high. The No. 45 Toyota driver recently secured his third win of the season in the penultimate Round of Eight playoff race at Homestead-Miami. By securing a clutch result, he has earned a place in the Championship 4 alongside Joey Logano and will compete for the title at Phoenix Raceway in the coming weeks. Cheering for the 28-year-old in the stands will be his wife Alexa Reddick, and their four-year-old son Beau, who will be eager to see his father win the title despite his other favorite drivers also being on track.

When asked if Beau is still a Chase Elliott fan, Tyler Reddick revealed, “Yeah, you know, on the Cup side he does like Kyle a lot and he enjoys interacting with him. I know he still likes Chase, Chase has always been really good to him. He does like Denny, there’s been a couple times where I’ve lost to Denny where he, you know, immediately after the race, like ‘I don’t like Denny right now’. When he sees the #45, he’s always like, there’s the number, there it is. So I feel like, when we watch Truck races, he sees the 45 number and he’s always pulling for Kaden Honeycutt.”

Beau Reddick’s mixed feelings towards Denny Hamlin are understandable. The four-year-old will want his father to win under any circumstances, even if it comes at the expense of the 23XI Racing co-owner. Recognizing that the No. 45 car is where his loyalties must lie, the youngster has also begun rooting for Niece Motorsports driver Kaden Honeycutt, who drives the #45 Chevrolet Silverado in the Truck Series. Even though the 21-year-old may have gained a young fan by default, Honeycutt is more than happy to accept Tyler Reddick’s son in his fandom.

Responding to the tweet, Honeycutt graciously said, “@TylerReddick Tell your son Beau I am honored for him as a fan of the 45🫶😁”. The part-time driver has made 12 Truck Series appearances so far, with both of his highest finishes (4th) coming at Kansas Speedway this year. The Texas native will compete at Martinsville Speedway as well and will hope to finish the penultimate race of the season on a positive note. At least he will be assured that a young fan will be cheering him on from the sidelines, which would give Honeycutt plenty of encouragement on the short track.

The NASCAR world has seen plenty of father-son duos in the past. Dale Jr. followed in his legendary father’s footsteps, and Keelan Harvick seems to be following suit. So it should come as no surprise that despite being just four years old, speculation is rife about the possibility of Beau Reddick pursuing a career in NASCAR. While some might say that he’s too young, Tyler Reddick began his motorsport journey at the tender age of four and a half. However, the 23XI Racing driver is being patient when it comes to his son, despite keeping the option open.

Speaking to Alex Weaver about his son’s future, Reddick said, “It’s really interesting. It’s pretty obvious that he only really talks to Alexa about it, he doesn’t like mentioning it to me. I want to see how well he would commit himself to something. Baseball is a lot cheaper than racing so he has been playing T-ball. I just want to see how much he’s willing to commit to something, on the good days, bad days, not-so-fun days, practice, games that don’t go good. How much you’re willing to commit yourself to it. I think in racing that’s important.”

With one race to go before the championship fixture at Phoenix Raceway, the stage is set for Tyler Reddick to go wheel-to-wheel for the ultimate prize. As the outcome of the race at Martinsville Speedway is irrelevant, the 28-year-old will use the coming weeks to prepare himself for the biggest event of his career so far. Adding fuel to the fire, 23XI Racing is currently involved in a legal battle with NASCAR by suing the sanctioning body for ‘monopolistic practices’. Won’t it be quite a statement if a driver lifts the Bill France Cup in front of the sport’s hierarchy?
