Driving the #98 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, Ty Majeski has qualified in pole position for tonight’s Craftsman Truck Series season opener. The 29-year-old driver edged out Trucks veteran Johnny Sauter by a razor-thin margin of just 0.018 seconds, setting the stage for a thrilling battle under the lights.
His blistering second qualifying lap of 50.345 seconds solidified his position at the front of the pack, sending a clear message to the competition that he’s ready to contend for the checkered flag. Coming off of a dominant year with 13 top-ten finishes and a win at the Tsport 200 at IRP, Majeski looks set to build on another ‘majestic’ season with the Ohio-based racing team.

Majeski Grabs Pole, Sauter, LaJoie Hot on His Tail
Rounding out the top five are Corey LaJoie, Matt Mills, and Tyler Ankrum, all within a tenth of a second of Majeski’s pole-winning time. This close competition sets the stage for a thrilling battle for the lead in tonight’s race. LaJoie, making a rare Truck Series start since his last outing at Darlington, showed he hasn’t lost his touch, qualifying an impressive third with a lap of 50.443 seconds. Local hero Daniel Dye, a native of DeLand, Florida, will also be a contender to watch. Qualifying seventh with a lap of 50.641 seconds, Dye will have the hometown crowd behind him as he seeks a strong start to his 2024 campaign.
Majeski made his debut for Niece Motorsports in the 2019 Truck Series season at the Lucas Oil 150 in Phoenix. After a lackluster 2020 season, Majeski consequently joined ThorSport in 2021, where he achieved all 3 of his Truck Series race triumphs.
