For ThorSport Racing star Ty Majeski, Saturday is a day he would surely like to erase from his memory. Despite having a quick truck, nothing went right for the 29-year-old who revealed the extent of his issues and the reason he spun out on lap 144. He earned a few stage points, but that aside, it was a total disaster for the driver of the #98.
Speaking to Frontstretch after the event, Majeski revealed that he was dealing with two motor issues and probably would not have made it till the end of the race. Looking back at the wreck, it seems like his truck had got loose on its own and spun around, collecting Ben Rhodes in the process. However, the driver of the truck believes that it was the #18 of Tyler Ankrum that pinched him and caused the moment.
“Yeah, just racing hard. My motor was laying down so I was trying to hustle it pretty hard and obviously, the #18 pinched me pretty good there but we’re all pinching each other so…just took the right side air, or the air of my right side and went around there. Two separate issues…the motor just finally let go so honestly we probably weren’t gonna finish the race anyway with the way the motor was going and it finally let go there,” he said after the race.

Racing on short tracks is never easy, especially not in a place like Bristol. Ty Majeski felt the worst of the track where he had previously won in September 2022. The 29-year-old seemed calm in the post-race interview, but his frustrations with his team not taking care of the engine issue came out. It has been a problem that has plagued the #98 team as per the driver’s admission.

Repeated engine issues frustrate the Truck Series stalwart
The ThorSport Racing star acknowledged the 17 stage points he earned during the event as the only saving grace of what was otherwise a torrid day. And that’s a shame since the #98 seemed pretty quick. Ty Majeski believes that he could have run in the top 5 had it not been for the problems with the engine.
“Yeah I mean you know, it was a decent points day for us, we captured decent stage points, kind of saved our day a little bit. Obviously never want to have DNFs but yeah, we had a decent truck today, one that could have definitely run inside the top 5. We just gotta get these engine issues figured out, it happens a little bit too often,” he stated.
