ThorSport Racing driver, Ty Majeski, has won his seventh career pole at the Martinsville Speedway for this weekend’s Truck Series race. Majeski driving the #98 Ford Truck clocked in the fastest lap in the qualifying round. With a lap time of 19. 417 seconds, not only did he grab the pole but also registered a new track record at the .526-mile short-oval race track.
Layne Riggs and Christina Eckes before Majeski’s run were top of the charts with their impressive lap times. With the shuffle in the starting position after Majeski’s lightning-speed run, it will be Eckes who will join him on the front row. Eckes ran a 19.437-second lap while Riggs clocked 19.502 seconds for his efforts, bagging him a third-place starting position.
Interestingly, all three drivers were successful in shattering the previous track record for the Truck Series race for the fastest lap which was set by Joey Logano, timed at 19.504 back in 2015.

Ty Majeski dedicates his pole win to his crew chief
The No. 98 truck for Majeski had been running at good speed during the practice session. Having shown a serious pace during the practice, the 29-year-old didn’t pull his foot off the gas, as during the qualifying he went on to shatter the track record and secure the pole for the Long John Silvers 200 race at Martinsville Speedway.
Speaking after his record-breaking run after the qualifying rounds, Majeski credited his pole win to his crew chief, Joe Shear Jr. “ Joe always tells me this story when he got beat the track record by Logano, they had it. Joe likes Martinsville right? It’s special to him, he’s always run good here so it’s cool to give him that track record. Besides that, we got a lot of work to do tonight, we feel good about our truck had good speed and race stream as well. It’s always good when you have speed that’s the hard part.”
He also expressed his desire to bag the iconic grandfather clock with a win tonight. “Yeah, that’s at the top of my list. So I really want the grandfather clock. You grow up a lot seeing it on TV and dreaming one day, right? And now I got the opportunity to go and do it and just super blessed to be in this position to drive the race trucks and ready to go get one tonight.”
