For Ty Majeski, the last couple of weeks have been far from perfect. He made mistakes in both Las Vegas and Bristol which cost him valuable track position. Coming into the COTA race, he knew that he had to put up a solid performance to regain his confidence and that’s exactly what he did in Austin on Saturday. The 29-year-old ran fantastically well despite struggling with track limits during the qualifying session of the Truck Series event and finished P3 in the race.

The race was won by Corey Heim who was flawless and Taylor Gray finished P2. Majeski’s P3 finish saw him take home 52 points which takes him to second place on the points table.

After the race, the ThorSport Racing driver seemed a happy man as he explained how he learned from his mistakes in the season to deliver a performance that his team could be proud of. This was a much-needed result for Ty Majeski who struggled in the last couple of races because of some rookie mistakes. It will be interesting to see how he builds on his season from this point on.

The driver expressed satisfaction, saying, “Really solid day. Good execution on everybody’s part. I didn’t make the course cutting or track limits mistake today. Obviously made it yesterday, cost us a few spots in qualifying but honestly I’m glad I made that mistake yesterday cause it kept me thinking about it all day today. Overall, solid day, good points today. I personally made a couple of mistakes in the last couple of weeks with the speeding on pit road penalty at Vegas but probably the best Truck there and then Bristol…just needed a good clean solid day today and that’s what we had”.

Ty Majeski was not the only driver who learned from his mistakes to put in a solid performance at the Circuit of the Americas on Saturday. The same can be said of race winner Corey Heim who was, quite frankly, spotless in Austin.

Last year, the 21-year-old race car driver did not have the best experience at COTA, but he still managed to finish P6. To come from that and not just win the following year’s race, but dominate it in the way he did? That takes something special and Corey Heim was one proud individual after the race came to an end.

As per RACER, the TRICON Garage star said, “Just prepared so hard for this race. I came into this race last year and struggled, really. Finished sixth with a penalty and just all over the place. To put together a solid race like this is just so special and really just shows you how good our trucks are back at the shop.”
