The 2023 season has been nothing short of a rollercoaster for Ty Dillon, especially after his exit from Spire Motorsports owing to a downright woeful season from the #77 Garage. While the rumors of Dillon’s move to Kaulig Racing for 2024 failed to live up to expectations, fans of the 31-year-old star will be pleased to know that Ty Dillon will be driving full-time for Rackley W.A.R. in the Craftsman Truck Series with Rackley Roofing as his primary sponsor for at least 16 races.
While Dillon’s Cup Series campaign may have failed to create the results Spire Motorsports was hoping for, his journey into the Truck Series as an established NASCAR driver will only mean one thing: Ty Dillon and Rackley W.A.R. will be the ones to watch out for next season.
Ty Dillon makes a shocking move to the Truck Series for 2024!
For the past few months, Ty Dillon emerged as the top contender to replace AJ Allmendinger at Kaulig Racing next season. However, Allmendinger’s confirmation as a runner for the team at the Daytona 500 hinted at alternative options for Dillon’s future. That alternative has now been confirmed to be Rackley W.A.R. in the Truck Series, a team that has had quite an eventful season this year despite not winning an event.
Adding to the team’s winless campaign was the misery of losing Matt Dibenedetto at Talladega, leaving the team’s future hanging in the balance. After winning their first race at Talladega in 2022, the team is eager to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. Fortunately, with Ty Dillon taking over that seat in a full-time role, Rackley W.A.R. is back on track to chase the elusive victory lane once again.

Speaking of chasing victory, Ty Dillon has been unable to do so for much of his campaign with Spire Motorsports. In 2023, Dillon finished as the lowest full-time Cup Series driver in the standings with a 32nd-place finish. Adding to his misery was the fact that he lost his drive to Carson Hocevar owing to his poor performance. It’s safe to say his Cup Series challenge has failed to make a dent in the competition.
But the case could be completely different in the Truck Series. A change in environment is much needed for any athlete and given how Dillon has performed as of late, a switch to the Truck Series could be just what he needs to kick-start that fire once again. While no crew chief has officially been announced for 2024 so far, Chad Kendrick has assumed that role for the #25 since 2021.
