Ty Dillon is all set to take the wheel of Rackley W.A.R.’s #25 Chevrolet in the upcoming season, kicking things off with a bang at the Daytona 500 opener on February 19, 2024. It was Ty Dillon himself who let the cat out of the bag, sharing the exciting update.

He dropped a hint about a fresh face taking the helm at Rackley W.A.R. for the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series but kept the cards close to his chest on who that might be. But that’s not all. Ty didn’t just give us the lowdown on his new team for 2024; he also dished out some plans brewing for the Cup Series.

Last season, Ty Dillon dipped his toes in the Cup Series waters with Spire Motorsports, but his full-time ride in the Truck Series dates back to 2013. That year, he raced to two victories and narrowly missed the championship, finishing second in the standings with Richard Childress Racing. This time around, Rackley Roofing Co. Inc. has thrown its hat in the ring, agreeing to be the primary sponsor for sixteen races in 2024, with more sponsors waiting in the wings to be announced.

 

But the real chatter is about Ty Dillon’s Cup Series aspirations. It seems he spilled the beans on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio about piecing together a part-time schedule in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2024. Despite his not-so-good season with Spire Motorsports, where he struggled to leave a mark, Dillon’s sights are set on the Cup Series.

Ty Dillon’s 2023 season was a tough one, finishing at the bottom of the full-time Cup Series drivers. To add insult to injury, he had to pass the baton to Carson Hocevar after his underwhelming performance. Let’s just say that his attempt to shake things up in the Cup Series hasn’t quite hit the high notes yet. But 2024 could be another chance for Ty Dillon to prove his worth in next-gen cars.

Ty Dillon’s journey in the Truck Series began in 2011 when he made a splash with finishes at 18th, third, and sixth in his first three races. That year, he also clinched the ARCA Menards Series championship, bagging an impressive seven wins. Despite the years that have rolled by since Dillon navigated the choppy waters of the Truck Series, Rackley W.A.R.’s team president and COO, Willie Allen, is over the moon.

Throughout his career, Richard Childress’s grandson has made 58 Truck Series starts, including two full-time seasons before shifting gears to the Xfinity Series. This time, he’s notched up three wins, 20 top-five finishes, and 36 top-ten placements. His last race in this series was in 2021. Now, as Ty Dillon steps back into the truck with one foot in the Cup Series as a part-timer, it’s going to be a treat to watch him navigate both worlds.
