Home/NASCAR

There are just three races left in the 2020 NASCAR regular season, and the playoffs right around the corner. There are just 16 slots up for grabs and several drivers are vying for them. The 28-year-old Ty Dillon, who lies 27th, is one of the drivers who is gunning to secure a slot in the playoffs.

Recently, he was in conversation with FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass about the final regular-season race at Daytona. He confessed that there is a chance of drivers amping up the aggression and recklessness at the superspeedway. Dillon admitted that this year’s race at Talladega was the ‘calmest’ race he’s ever witnessed.

He said, “I think the end of the race will get a little bit more aggressive, come to the chequered. People are really trying to make a move at a place where you’re going so fast, and it can be so dangerous.”

Knowing that there is the Dover double-header, along with a race at Daytona, Ty Dillon said that he will bide his time. He knows that he has a good car under him, but his chances of making it are still rather slim.

Dillon also said that he has to watch out for potential crashes and not get caught up in them. He acknowledged that crashes can happen at anytime and have the potential to wipe out at least 12-13 cars.

This could promote a driver well up the order. Who knows, maybe a crash could give him a shot at winning or putting him among the leaders. Of course, Ty Dillon is not saying that he has a chance of winning.

However, he could try for a stage win or two. At the end of the day, he has to score those precious points necessary to vault up the order and make it into a playoff berth.

Obviously, the other drivers will not make it easy for him, but he will have a darn good shot at it.
