In recent days, besides all the action and drama unfolding on the track, NASCAR has been plagued by injuries. If you look closely, in the month of March, the NASCAR world was shocked to hear the news of its poster boy, Chase Elliott‘s unfortunate accident, sidelining the Hendrick Motorsports ace for nearly 6 weeks.
While he returned to the tracks at Martinsville Speedway, his teammate, Alex Bowman has fallen victim to yet another unfortunate accident, severely injuring himself in a Sprint race!
Despite HMS’s bad omen, NASCAR arranged a warm welcome for its poster boy, going on a promotional spree for the ace speedster. While the organization lauded his arrival, recently Elliott has revealed his off days from the track and how he dealt with the injury, going through “uncharted territory“.

Chase Elliott recalls his past days, describing the road to recovery!
To the surprise of many in the community, the serious injury did not faze the speedster as he showed no rust on the track. With dishing out a solid performance, coming off the brief layoff, yet again the #9 driver proved his mettle by finishing in the top 10.
His snowboarding accident that had his left leg fractured was his first major accident, while he was treading the shallow waters, Elliott described his road to recovery in an exclusive. Being a “pretty realistic person,” Elliott recalls his thoughts on the popular fitness media where he details the things running across his mind.
As per Muscle & Fitness, Chase Elliott, who has never had a major accident or surgery, said, “I’m a pretty realistic person. I knew I was hurt before I even got the X-rays. I had a pretty good feeling I wasn’t racing that weekend. I had never hurt myself or had to have surgery in my life. It was uncharted territory for me but the way I looked at it was that I couldn’t do anything about it once it happened and once you get the reality of what the injury is, how long surgery is going to be, and what the recovery is going to look like.”
Further, he accounts for how he had to be patient and focused on the recovery phase, “I just really started listening to the doctors and putting in as much effort and work in on my end to make sure I stayed on schedule. I think I’m probably a few weeks out of being completely mobile and back to normal as it pertains to flexibility and athletic movement — certainly getting around and building strength back in my leg and knee. It’s in a really good place and I’ve been happy with that. I’m just working through it.”

While the majority of the fans anticipated that the driver would be overwhelmed by the short track, Elliott being one of the best in the business, proved them wrong with an impressive 10th position at Martinsville! What was more impressive was the fact that the driver showed no rust, on a track that required the best version of a driver, the HMS ace showed his mettle by dishing out an impressive performance despite starting the race in 24th place.
Moving on to the next challenge was the next race at the notorious speedway, Talladega! The race track has garnered a fiery reputation for its long straights and tricky turns, and guess what, this certainly did not shake the driver as he backed up with a stellar 14th-spot finish at the iconic track.
