Chase Elliott stormed from the rear of the field to win his maiden NASCAR Cup Series title by a big margin at the end. Elliott celebrated with his father Bill Elliott, who is a former Cup champion, after the victory.

Chase Elliott shares a nice moment with Jimmie Johnson
In a wonderful moment after the race, retiring NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson congratulated Elliott on the racetrack before the two shared a hug. They then shared another hug with Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick.

Chase and Bill are now just the third father-son trio to win the Cup Series championship. They shared a warm embrace on the racetrack. This was after Elliott drove his car to pit road and celebrated with his team.

Elliott led 154 of the 312 laps on the day. He proved his worth and why he is a modern-day star of the sport.

Joey Logano was in contention throughout the race. He led the race for the most time after Elliott. He was disappointed to not win his second title. However, he took a lot of positives from his year.

Elliott grabbed the lead for the final team with just over 40 laps to go and he never let go. This ended up being the pass for the championship. Elliott eventually raced to the chequered flag.

The race marked Jimmie Johnson’s final race as a full-time NASCAR driver. Along with Johnson, it was also Chad Knaus’ last race as Crew Chief. Knaus was Johnson’s Crew Chief for all his seven NASCAR Cup Series titles. He now moves to a higher role at Hendrick.

Elliott is the third-youngest driver to win the NASCAR Cup Series title. He won his fifth race of the season and second straight race. Elliott proved his worth when it mattered most. He won three of his races in the playoffs.
Elliott made his intentions clear from the start of the race. He rushed ahead and was in the top-10 inside the first 30 laps. Soon, he fought for the lead. It was a flawless race for him in the end.
