When it comes to racing, everything counts. From each crew member to the car and its smallest details, the driver, his attitude, and each second that goes by has a weight. Hard work is more than just putting in the hours, but also appreciating the hours your team put in for you. The best advocate for this mindset is Truck Series Champion, Ty Majeski.

The driver this year has emerged as a winner to have your eyes peeled at. Even with a checkered past, he has won the old-fashioned way. He might have been fired multiple times and not be the flashiest of drivers, but he seems to have found his place with ThorSport Racing and is one of the most perseverant drivers the sport has seen. Now, as he takes on the Bill Bigley Memorial yet again, what would the Truck Series Champion’s mindset be like?

The year 2024 has been a Ty Majeski year. The NASCAR driver, who competes for ThorSport Racing full-time, won the Truck Series Championship this year. He not only dominated but also won the season finale at Phoenix in November. This was Majeski’s second appearance in Championship 4 in just his third full-time national series campaign. Additionally, it was the sixth Truck Series title for ThorSport — the most of any organization in the series.

Currently, the NASCAR driver is at the UARA Nationals, and if practices are something to go by, he is doing great. The 2024 Truck Series Champion clocked in 6th in the final UARA practice of the evening at Freedom Factory. Majeski was 9th in the 2023 running of this event and will look to improve on that after his most successful Truck season yet.

So, when a reporter from the press at the event asked about his expectations for the qualifying night, especially since he has been fast at the practices, Majeski said he was hopeful.

He said, “I feel good about it. Certainly, quite a bit better than last year. I have one of the better cars that I have had in quite a while. So, happy with it. We didn’t practice too much (this time), which is a good thing. Usually, we practice a lot. It’s been a pretty smooth weekend so far. Hopefully, it will translate into qualifying for the race tonight.”

From what Majeski told the reporters at the event, it seems that the team has worked hard to address the issues the driver faced last year at the race.

Majeski said, looking especially thrilled about the speed of the car, “This place isn’t any smoother than last year. That’s for sure. I’m just trying to get the car to react right over the bumps and recover – that’s the biggest thing. I feel like we have been over a couple of changes to help fix that. That was our struggle last year. I feel good about where the car is at. It has had great speed, which has been really good. Obviously, Ford ran on the line for qualifying tonight, so it would be huge if we could sit on the pole and get that redraw and see what happens.

It was obviously a good few weeks. A lot of work is put in. Yeah, I mean, a lot of different people put a lot of work into my racing career, and to see it pay off with a championship in the top three series of the sport is very rewarding, not just for myself but for everybody. So, happy to be able to share it with a lot of great people –people who have been able to help me along the way,” Majeski said to the press a few hours back in UARA.

The well-known No. 91 secured the pole position during qualifying with a time of 14.477 seconds at the three-eighths-mile former Desoto Speedway, earning a $4,000 bonus sponsored by Lankford Lawn Care. This impressive lap surpassed Johnny Sauter’s provisional pole time of 14.520 seconds. The Truck Series Champion has got his offseason racing off to a flyer and will look to cap off 2024 with another title to his name. Do you think Ty Majeski can win the ninth Bill Bigley Memorial?
