Hendrick Motorsports ace Kyle Larson blasts into the Phoenix race week, riding on the momentum of his Vegas win, while his teammate and NASCAR’s golden boy, Chase Elliott, seems to be well off from the picture as the #5 driver gets the odds.

Larson’s landslide win at Atlanta has him as the favorite in the upcoming race at the one-mile Phoenix Raceway, which will host the Shriners Children’s 500, the fourth race in the 2024 Cup Series schedule, and a major Arizona sports betting event.

Just like that, the man who ended his day on a sour note with a nasty DNF at Atlanta is back with a bang. The #5 HMS driver, Kyle Larson, did not have the opening he wanted, but he managed to get a respectable 11th-place finish at the chaotic race in Daytona. Then came Atlanta, where the #5 Chevy got odd rails, ending his day at P32.

But all it took for the 2021 Cup Series champion was one race to change the tide. Now with his absolute dominance at Vegas, Larson’s stock is back to an all-time high, with bookies and fans betting their money on the #5 driver instead of his teammate/rival Chase Elliott.

Leading 181 laps of the 267-lap feature really did it for Larson, who topped the BetArizona charts closely followed by the reigning and defending Cup Series champion, Ryan Blaney, whose #12 Ford comes with a solid reputation on one-mile, one-and-a-half-mile tracks.

As for Elliott, his lackluster showing and a dismal 2023 season have him not even making the list, while 21-year-old Ty Gibbs managed to land a spot with +1200 odds compared to Larson’s +600 and Blaney’s +700.
