Jack White pulled off one of the most low-key album drops ever! He, in an extremely secretive manner, slipped unbranded vinyl copies of his new album into customers’ bags at Third Man Records. New York Times had deemed him as the coolest, weirdest, and savviest rockstar of our time, and standing true to the claims, he ensured his album had no cover art, no tracklist… nothing. The move just left everyone guessing.
But at a surprise fundraiser event, he dropped all the juicy details, and he did it most splendidly. He dedicated his album to certain individuals, one of whom also inspired the name of Tom Cruise’s character, Cole Trickle, in the popular movie Days of Thunder!

Jack White didn’t just announce the details of his album without some build-up and drama. On July 27, he took the stage at the American Legion Post 82 in Nashville. This show itself was a surprise for fans and was only announced two days earlier! The show was meant to raise funds for a new sound system at the venue. Jack White then went on to perform the new tracks from his album “No Name” that he had very slyly dropped. Then, at the concert, White also teased something special at the merch table: final copies of the “No Name” LP on blue vinyl. And it has 13 tracks and White has dedicated the album to a handful of people. One of whom is NASCAR’s most loved driver Dick Trickle!

Dick Trickle was a notable name in NASCAR. He began his racing career in the 1950s and made a name for himself in Wisconsin on the short tracks. He was also billed as the winningest short-track driver in history. But that’s not all that etched his name in history. He then made his way to NASCAR, debuting in the Cup Series in 1989 and becoming the oldest rookie in history! Although he never won a Cup Series race, his personality and charisma shone through and still have everyone talking and speaking about him. He quickly became a fan favorite! Even after retiring from racing, with his heart still in the sport, he worked as a NASCAR commentator and occasionally drove.

Did you know that Kyle Busch and his family could become big names in NASCAR because of Dick Trickle’s family? Yes, indeed! Apparently, Dick Trickle and his nephew were the reason that the door to racing opened up to the Busch family. Busch recently had a conversation with Kenny Wallace about the same.
Busch explained that Chris Trickle, who is Dick Trickle’s nephew, a promising West Coast driver, was shot tragically in a drive-by shooting. Now his spot at the Southwest Tour was taken over by Kurt Busch, who then went on to win races. This helped Kurt to get noticed by Roush Racing and then get started in the Truck Series. The Trickle family’s tragedy led to an opportunity for the Busch family to rise in racing. Busch said, “But unfortunately, he [ Chris] was shot in a drive-by shooting and never raced again but that moment was actually the turning point for the Busch family and our stature in Vegas.”

Kenny Wallace also recalled an incident where Rowdy was at the Slinger Speedway in Wisconsin and he was working in his car. This is where Dick Trickle spotted him and he told Wallace, “That Kyle Busch is a racer.” Well, such an appreciation for a young driver is not just an honor but a confidence booster. Busch was more than pleased with it. And now the rest is history. Kyle Busch is one of the biggest names in NASCAR. His son has also stepped in the same footsteps as his uncle and his father.
