Which driver would you pick between Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell, and Kyle Larson to win a sprint car race event? Naturally, the preferred picks would be Larson and Christopher Bell. The two are seasoned dirt racers who have clinched major titles and race wins by piloting sprint cars. Meanwhile, Rowdy would be the least favorite option given that he’s fairly new to this discipline of racing. But, for some reason, he is the one who is leading the proceedings with back-to-back wins at the Tulsa Shootout.
The 2024 NASCAR season was a huge letdown for Kyle Busch as he could not register a single win across 36 races. This poor run of performance on the racetrack also ended his 19-year, one-win-per-year streak. Rather than bowing out and taking time off, he opted to race on the dirt track, and it looks like his efforts are finally being rewarded.

Busch is competing in the Outlaw Class, the premier division and he certainly has eased into the initial challenges with wins in the heats race. Rowdy first won the winged heat race and then repeated the same in the non-wing class heat race. Flo Racing shared the update about the same on Instagram: “Adding a Non-Wing Outlaw heat win, Kyle Busch two-for-two to start the #TulsaShootout powered by NOS Energy Drink after his Winged Outlaw win last night.”
After claiming the victory in the winged class event, Kyle Busch had a rare smile on his face which was nowhere to be seen throughout the NASCAR season. Speaking about his experience so far at the Tulsa Shootout, Busch said, “I’ll tell you what man these outlaw cars are so much fun because they have so much power in them. The Lucus Oil with that alignment motor is a great combination, it was really really ripping that high side. So loved it, all is good right now, feels good, want to tune in onto the car a little bit more and be ready for qualifiers when it comes.”
Well, he was unhinged and feeling the after-effects of what he was able to achieve in the sprint car. It was evident that his #51 entry was indeed the class of the field and Busch was able to switch lanes from low to high. That is how he made race-winning passes by hugging that wall but keeping his foot on the gas. Well, he himself was feeling the nerves trying not to crash into the wall after running that high line.

“Just worried about f—ing ripping the top or not… I got goosebumps, I don’t know man that thing felt so good. It’s harder to get in and out of the car than it is to race. That motor dude I’m telling you, it f—ing screams. Alright, I’m done for the day, peace out.” This was an unfiltered version of Kyle Busch after his first heat race win, and he certainly is feeling good about his chances for the next challenge. This win was also reason enough for ardent Kyle Busch fans to celebrate, after all, it’s been quite some time to see him actually enjoy a race victory.
Fans predict that 2025 is going to be Rowdy’s year
It wasn’t just the RCR star but also his loyal supporters who suffered throughout the 2024 NASCAR season. There was a feeling that the entire season was perhaps just a bad dream or curse for the #8 team. Even when they were within touching distance of a race win, things would take a turn for worse. Although, this win isn’t huge in terms of the overall event, but for his fans, it was a big welcoming change. “HOW CAN YA NOT LOVE KYLE BUSCH.”

The post-race interviews after every weekend saw Busch having a hard time dealing with questions after one disappointing result after another. He did pop off from time to time so that RCR could give him what he needed on the track, but the speed just wasn’t there. Although this was just a dirt race event, Busch had an extra spring in his step and his expressions clearly indicated that he enjoyed racing. These fine details were picked up by this race fan, “That is saying something when Rowdy gets goosebumps racing in this series…#Passion.”
In the video post shared by Busch on Instagram, it was evident that wasn’t able to comprehend what he was feeling. But one thing was clear, that he was in his happy place, something that RCR hasn’t provided the 2-time champ with. Seeing his favorite driver having a blast after a lean patch on the asphalt, another user wrote, “So good to see him smile like that.”
Prior to this event, Busch was learning the tricks of the sprint car racing at Millbridge Raceway with his son Brexton. He also participated in the USAC Nationals sprint car event in November. The results weren’t something to write home for the NASCAR star, but after seeing him dominate the heat races at Tulsa, it’s fair to say he’s gotten up to speed with sprint car racing. “Kyle looks like he’s having a blast away from nascar.”

A few fans even got carried away and started making bold claims about a strong comeback from the #8 team. Although the team has made an overhaul with major changes at the compeition level, it’s still early to make a prediction on how will it impact RCR’s on-track performance. “Ready for this year w Nascar and hope you have a reason to smile like that when ya get outta a new Gen Nascar.. Time to put the nay sayers believe in Rowdy Nation.”..
