Everyone is in their vacation mood as NASCAR prepares to roll out its brand new schedule at the Coliseum. However, for Carson Hocevar, things have still not gotten any better since last weekend’s Craftsman Truck Series race at Phoenix Raceway.

Although Hocevar has been extremely apologetic and regretful about his tussle with Corey Heim, the fandom is not ready to believe him. While some say the act was intentional, others commented on his bad acting skills. Meanwhile, Carson Hocevar spoke to SiriusXM NASCAR radio, where he argued that neither was it intentionally done nor was he acting. Whatever it is, NASCAR veteran Dale Earnhardt Jr felt like Hocevar needed to change his style of racing as soon as possible and for alarming reasons.

The Lucas Oil 150 was nothing short of a scene right out of the Fast and Furious saga. The only thing that was different was that there were trucks instead of a Mazda RX-7 or a Toyota Supra. The crux of the skirmish was marked with 31 laps to go. Carson Hocevar hit Corey Heim multiple times, making him spin out and hitting Stewart Friese. Heim chose to get his revenge on Hocevar rather than try to win the championship and sent the latter into the wall during the race’s closing laps.

Many NASCAR pundits viewed this as an egregious act of dirty driving. There is indeed a difference between hard racing and dirty driving. None of the two realized that. And after it was all done and dusted, Heim was penalized by NASCAR and Hocevar by the fans. But Hocevar still holds on to the fact that he was genuinely frustrated with himself.

He said, “All these guys can speculate and say it was a big act, and I was trying to win the Oscars in my vehicle, but, I was frustrated, and I’m still frustrated. Still tears me up pretty bad to the sense of I felt like I let everybody down at that moment.” Hocevar felt like his #42 Niece Motorsports team was good enough to run 2nd or 3rd in the championship, but he gave it all away on that chaotic overtime restart.

Carson Hocevar also mentioned he wanted to finish the race on a sweet note and shake everybody’s hands while drinking beer. But instead, it ended quite miserably for him. “We just left a big sour taste in everybody’s mouth; my group, their group and everybody watching,” he said.

“It just really frustrated me that I put myself in that scenario, even though the intention was never to pull that. Just was trying too hard and misjudged it by 2-3 inches,” he added.

However, what Dale Earnhardt Jr said about Carson Hocevar in a recent episode of the Dale Jr Download might give him some valuable lessons before he moves on to his full-time Cup Series ride with Spire Motorsports next year.

What Freddie Kraft said in an episode of Door Bumper Clear took Dale Earnhardt Jr by surprise. The Bubba Wallace insider said that what Carson Hocevar did was worse than what Corey Heim did. Although initially it wasn’t clear to Junior why Kraft said that, it started to make sense to the JR Motorsports owner once Kraft spelled it out.

Carson Hocevar started it all. Heim didn’t do it on his own. On that note, Junior said, “I don’t know that I could say that one’s worse than the other. I’d say they’re about equal.” However, Junior had other things to say to him. And most of it hints at the probability of Hocevar losing his Cup Series deal.

Dale Earnhardt Jr believes that Carson Hocevar feels remorse about doing what he did. However, he also knows that Hocevar doesn’t feel that same remorse at the moment when he wrecks someone. He said, “Carson has done this so many times. I’m sure that he feels like, man, I got to straighten this out. I gotta stop doing this, but he doesn’t feel that way in the moment to stop doing it…he keeps doing it.”

“There’s something innate inside his mental approach to all of this that really needs some work. If he continues this type of stuff (he will) ruin this incredible opportunity that he has,” he stated blatantly.
