Folks, Ty Majeski was hoping to kick off the 2025 season where he left it last season, with a win at Phoenix and his first Truck Series championship. But four races into the season, Majeski’s not had race-winning form. No doubt he’s been consistent with the 2 top 5s, but he’s only led 14 laps until now, and that first win is yet to come. He’d have hoped Homestead Miami would be different, but he’s not having a great day despite having a fast truck.
Well, things were off to a decent start with him starting P10, and he was climbing through the pack as the race progressed. However, a stack-up on the pit road in the final stage of the race has him frustrated. And it’s the #45 truck of Kaden Honeycutt, that’s gotten him all riled up.

Ty Majeski is fuming at Homestead Miami
Here’s what happened. Layne Riggs was coming out of his pit lane and Honeycutt, trying to avoid him, jumped lanes to get ahead. However, he missed the #98 truck of Majeski coming from behind. This led to Majeski’s left front making contact with the #45! While this would have been fine if it was a slight bump, these trucks are very sensitive, and the damage to Majeski’s truck was brutal. The impact dented the #98 truck, and he had to come back to the pit lane and get it fixed, sacrificing his track position. Look at that moment:

Ty Majeski‘s crew chief, Joe Shear Jr, on the radio instructed, “The nose is pretty screwed up. We have to come in and fix it guys.” This got Majeski frustrated as he screamed on the radio, “F—— idiots, man. This s—-.” Anyway, he came back to the pit lane and his crew had to take the hammer out and pop that left front out. Let’s see where Majeski finished by the end of the race.
And while Majeski was mad at Honeycutt, he was also angered towards his teammate Ben Rhodes. However, the reason for this is unknown. Carson Hocevar was the pit reporter at that time and he told the Fox callers, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano, this. Anyway, whatever the reason, it was a disappointing day for the defending champ. He entered the race as the points leader of the season. However, he’s now eight points behind Corey Heim, who managed a P3 finish.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Ty Majeski's frustration justified, or should he keep his cool and focus on the next race?
Have an interesting take?
Also, it would have been tough for Ty Majeski to end the race in P11 as he was looking at the bumper of Honeycutt in P10! The ‘Baptist Health 200’ is a short race and once you suffer damage that big, it is tough to gain back positions. Well, it’s only tough if you are not Kyle Larson!

Kyle Larson pulls off an unbelievable finish!
Folks, if you are feeling bad for Majeski…you are in for a ride. He wasn’t the only one having a tough day at the track. Corey Heim is the one sulking the most. Picture this: a pole start, then he won stage 1, won stage 2, and led the most laps of the race (78), only to finish P3 at the end. He was set to win the race. After all, the #11 truck was the fastest. It had competition from the #7 of Kyle Larson, but he ruined his chances in the final stage after spinning out on contact with Riggs, so Heim was licking his lips at the sights of a third victory in 2025.
However, when you’re racing Kyle Larson, it’s always too early to celebrate. Larson never gave up. He climbed back positions, passing traffic. And the HMS driver knew the fast way was riding closest to the wall. And when we say close it means hardly two fingers’ distance. But Larson managed that with ease and with 3 to go, he was already up to P3. But still, catching Heim on a 1.5-mile track was gonna need more than just 3 laps. And Larson knew that. His goal by then was to take down Layne Riggs and go home a P2 finisher. But then, unexpectedly, Heim’s car shut down.
Heim, describing this moment, said, “I don’t know exactly what was going on. Never really had an issue like that. I’d be totally fine, and the engine would just hard cut [out] on me. Dash would go black and have no power until I fully cycled it. So, I was coasting for six seconds trying to turn the power switch and turn it back (on). I don’t know.” Just like that, Larson got the opportunity to take the lead and win the race.

And Larson himself couldn’t believe it! In the post-race interview, he said, “Yeah that was pretty unbelievable from my see. I wasn’t exactly sure if I can get back up there. Didn’t have the restart that I wanted. Took a little bit too long to start picking ’em off. But got rippin’ the wall, both ends and it was really paying dividends… I’m not sure what happened to the #11. But that worked out in our favor for sure. I don’t think I would have gotten to him, obviously, I would have gotten to second probably but, it would have been tough to get to him.”
Larson is always a force to reckon with at Homestead Miami Speedway. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has 1 win and five top-5 finishes at the former Championship deciding track and is used to leading laps there for fun. During the 2022 playoff race, Larson led 199 laps out of 267, to claim his first and most dominant victory at the track. However, this weekend is a special one for him, as he will be taking part in the Xfinity race as well, attempting a clean sweep! What do you think? Can Kyle Larson carry his Truck Series momentum over to the Xfinity and Cup races this weekend? Let us know in the comments!
