With the much-anticipated race at Pocono Raceway done and dusted, race-winning Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin is back with more controversy, poking fun at movie lovers, and hilariously mocking Will Ferrell for his role in the new Barbie movie.

While the veteran driver is basking in glory after racking up his 7th win on the track, his 23XI Racing driver, Bubba Wallace too chimed in with his thoughts, siding with his team boss Denny Hamlin as he outright called the $295 million dollar movie “trash.”

Ever since its theatrical worldwide release last week, Barbie, starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and the popular comedian Will Ferrell, has captivated fans all over the world with its unique shading and aesthetics.

While the Hollywood rendition of the popular Barbie character trumped Christopher Nolan’s juggernaut, Oppenheimer, outperforming it by becoming this year’s largest opening, NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin had sharp words regarding the movie, calling it “the worst movie ever made.”

After riling up the fans at The Tricky Triangle, the veteran once again took aim, and fired away shots, starting a new debate with his tweet the day after the release. Hamlin went on to mock the popular comedian, saying, “Not even Will Ferrell could save it.” While the JGR driver noted his opinion publically on Twitter, his NASCAR driver, Bubba Wallace, also resonated with the veteran when he simply deemed it garbage.

With the Warner bros. going on a marketing spree worth $150M, close to the movie’s budget ($145 million), the strategy for the very least, paid off. Now coming to the talk of the town, in an exclusive segment with ONE37pm, the #23 driver was in for a game of “Gas or Trash.” When asked about the movie Barbie, he simply said, “trash.”

Though the driver was blunt and honest about his take, he did not shy away from revealing his excitement for the upcoming Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg’s fight card. Even though the agreement has not yet been fruited, Wallace, when asked about it, said, “Straight gas” with a chuckle, showing his enthusiasm to see the billionaires bang away in the octagon.

On the other hand, Hamlin’s tweet reignited the debate as some fans agreed with the 42-year-old whereas another bunch said, “It’s not for you Denny.” While the movie itself is not everyone’s cup of tea with its over-the-top color palette and peculiar theme, right-wing activists and traditionalists have deemed it “man-hating” and “misandrist” with the renowned conservative political commentator, Ben Shapiro leading the charge.

While the crowd was appalled to see the veteran employ the same old tactic he used last year to wreck out Ross Chastain, this time against his friend, Kyle Larson, the JGR driver was treated to loud booes as the fans showed their displeasure on track. Much like his post-race remarks about Larson, Hamlin yet again poked fun when he tweeted this out.

As the driver shared his thoughts, online fans joined the driver as some cinephiles rebuked the driver’s comments.

“I’ll take your word for it. I can only imagine what absolute disaster it is.”

While one fan felt the driver’s emotion, another fan mocked the driver, saying the 42-year-old veteran needs to wait longer for his first title,

well they will not get an oscar nor will you get a championship this year”
