Whether he likes it or not, Ross Chastain seems to find himself at the center of controversies time and again. Just a few months after his ‘Hail Melon’ move that had the NASCAR community in shock, there is a new ‘wrecking ball’ topic of discussion among fans. Though the hail melon move garnered him a lot of appreciation, this time it is different. So much so that his own team, Trackhouse Racing seems to be leveraging the situation.
At Richmond Raceway last week, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell blamed Chastain for causing him to run into the rear of William Byron’s car, which ultimately ended his race. Further, Bell criticized Chastain for going three-wide into the corner calling him a ‘Wrecking Ball’.
As Bell went on to blame the #1 driver without even seeing the replays, this led fans to fill the internet with Ross Chastain meme, with him doing some of the most random stuff

Trackhouse Racing came up with a commendable marketing strategy
As per the memes, Chastain became the reason behind all historical events in the world of NASCAR. From breaking Chase Elliott’s leg to starting the world wars and ending dinosaurs, Ross Chastain was apparently behind it all. Now leveraging this massive opportunity of his meme popularity, his team Trackhouse Racing came up with the best marketing strategy ever.
They posted on Instagram a black t-shirt design up for grabs and it had “THANKSROSS” written on it.

This time, the NASCAR meme game has gone to a whole new level. Though he had nothing to do with the incident involving the other two drivers, he got caught up in between. Although things were sorted between Bell and Byron, it was too late, as the meme riot had already kicked off by then. The Trackhouse Racing team’s smart move to capitalize on the whole blame-game was just brilliant.
Emulating what Bell did, the team captioned their post, “Of course, it’s raining at Bristol, #ThanksRoss.”
This was the team’s hilarious take on Chastain being the bad guy for everything that happens.
