In the build-up to the 2021 NASCAR Cup season, Justin Marks established the Trackhouse Racing team. Since then, he has linked up with rap artist Pitbull, as a co-owner. In the team’s debut season, driver Daniel Suarez finished the season in 25th place, with a best finish of 4th and three Top 10 finishes.

Recently, Justin Marks spoke on the ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast about his team. He said, “This is the most transformative time in the history of the sport. We have new cars, new owners, we’re coming up on television renewal. We’re going to new race track, we have diversity more than we have ever seen at the top levels. With all these things happening, now is the moment to come in and put a stake in the ground. As someone that embraces that change, can see the future, can see five-10-15 years down the line. I’m going to build my business around that vision.

Marks insisted that he will not try to squeeze out revenue from an entity that was state-of-the-art a long time ago, especially when it is no longer state-of-the-art. This time around, he entered the sport on a clean slate and wants to make moves based on his vision of the future.

For now, the team owner will be looking forward to the 2022 season and the Next Gen cars’ debut. A lot of hopes are hinged on these new cars performing well. There have already been multiple tests conducted with the cars, with a handful left on the horizon.

Finally, in February 2022, the season will officially kick off, and these cars will be out in all their glory. Trackhouse Racing will be hoping to figure out what makes these cars tick so that they have a positive start in the new era.
