Pro Late Model’s new entrant ushers in hope

Jade Avedisian started her career in 2022, and it came into a momentary lapse just two years later! But, it built up to the stoppage through other accidents which, luckily, she walked unscratched off. She first met with a spine-chilling accident at Northern California’s Placerville Speedway in November 2022 where she steered the No. 84 car and got cornered before going airborne. The 16-year-old confronted her wrecker, Tanner Carrick as she walked out of her, ensuring that the crowd went crazy! In 2023, Jade Avedisian stunned the racing world winning the Xtreme Outlaw Midget championship. But, the year saw another disaster.

Even after her dominating display, her flip at City Circle in 2023 is unforgettable. It was a 4-flip disaster followed by a crash into the outer wall. Well, the 2024 disasters can be kept aside for now as the good news is that Jade is finally back on the tracks. Speaking of the opportunity ahead, Avedisian said, “I’m super excited. It’s simply different you know to be a part of this world and have a Speedway collector, it’s just like I said, it’s very different. But, so its a lot of opportunities, it’s a lot of reps. And I think it’s great for me. Especially for me, you know I am not much experienced. Looking to build on it each night and get better…. hopefully we should have a clean night tonight. Just keep building on it.”

Avedisian’s return was a surprise for fans as the 2024 season was nothing short of a disaster. She had accounted for only three top-five finishes and just one podium appearance. Furthermore, injuries she sustained at USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget-sanctioned BC39 created a profound gap in her career when she had to pull out of the 2024 competition, leaving behind a heartfelt note on X. But now, none of this makes the slightest difference. She is fit, fine, and ready to race!

Jade Avedisian has come back to the tracks in collaboration with Wilson Motorsports. Toyota sees Avedisian as a potential Cup Series talent, but her journey is just beginning. After offering her a multi-year contract in November 2023, they expected that she would pick up pace, becoming stronger with every passing year. This confidence emerged when Avedisian claimed victory in the Pro Late Model division at the Fall Brawl at Hickory Motor Speedway in 2022. However, apart from past injuries and minute differences in the vehicle class, other discomforts are waiting for her.

This year, she faces tougher competition as she steps up to the World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna. Fans will see her compete across select events in the CARS Tour, Carolina Pro, and JEGS Tour. Speaking of the journey that is yet to unfold, Avedisian said, “Actually, I feel really good. I felt a lot better yesterday in practice and then I did the red eye. So it’s just a testament to how great the team is. I just got a lot more comfortable. I honestly feel really good…..felt just as confident as ever. I just wanna do my best.”

The young lady has skills, and the types of crashes she has survived make her the perfect candidate to shoot for the stars. However, if her claims are backed by actions is something that fans can judge after the 2025 events start to unfold. Well, the opening match at New Smyrna Speedway saw her finishing 11th in the Pro Late Models. But, what influence has Avedisian had on dirt racing that she is compared to one of the all-time bests?

When Avedisian was praised by the 2021 Cup Series champion

Growing up in California’s Central Valley, Jade Avedisian was immersed in the world of dirt racing from a young age. Thanks to her father’s work as a sprint car crew member, this added fuel to the fire. Inspired by Kyle Larson’s rise in the sport, she set out to make her mark. At just nine years old, she captured a national quarter-midget championship. In 2020, she took victory in a winged Outlaw micro sprint race. This was at the prestigious John Hinck Championship in Missouri.

Jade Avedisian has often been seen as the female counterpart to the prodigy himself, Kyle Larson. Why so? Like Larson, Avedisian too has a calm demeanor that takes over her opponents in a voracious way. The 2021 Cup Series Champion had also shared his praise about her. Larson, in an interview with FOX, said, “She’s got a very aggressive style and she’s fun to watch. A great lady, a great family… I am excited to see her career progress.”
