Jade Avedisian has been making a lot of noise with her performance in the national midget championship. While she made history this season by becoming the first woman to win the competition, Avedisian has achieved another milestone in her career. She signed a multiyear deal with Toyota to be one of the manufacturer’s development drivers.

Since 2021, Toyota has constantly supported Avedisian. However, with the signing of this contract, the 17-year-old couldn’t be more thankful to the Japanese manufacturer.

Earlier this year in January, Jade Avedisian caught everyone’s eye as she was named the Chili Bowl Nationals Rookie of the Year. It only got better for her as she won the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series title at I-44 Riverside Speedway. While this helped her make history, she is keen to see what the future holds with Toyota.

As reported by Speedsports.com, Avedisian said, “I’m excited to spend the next few years with them [Toyota]. We still keep the same goals though. We still need to go win races and lead as many laps as we can. But to know that I’m in a contract, it’s obviously a big dream come true as well.”

Next season, Avedisian will compete in the USAC national midget and Xtreme Outlaw races with Keith Kunz Motorsports. Along with that, she will be running the entire Toyota GR Cup schedule with Nitro Motorsports. This will certainly help her gain experience on pavement and road courses.

Not only that, with this opportunity, Avedisian believes she can make it big. She said, “If I run good, it can fast forward a lot of years. I know what my plan is and I know what my potential is.”  With her impressive record so far, there are no limits for the California-native driver.

In fact, the Toyota Racing Development general manager Tyler Gibbs spoke very highly about Avesidian with the announcement. He said, “Toyota and TRD remain dedicated to finding and developing the future talent of our sport. Jade has earned her place in our development program with her tremendous talent, work ethic and bright future.”

Gibbs added, “We are thrilled to make this commitment to Jade and her family and look forward to continuing to watch her succeed at the highest levels in years to come.” It was indeed a memorable moment for Avedisian and the fans couldn’t help but go all gaga over the announcement.

To be recognized for your potential at the age of just 17 surely must have meant a lot for Jade Avedisian. It is certainly no joke to win the Xtreme Outlaw Midget title and that too with five victories and 16 top-five finishes in 29 races. No wonder Toyota wasted little time in signing her up for the development program.

While it is a significant achievement from Avedisian’s perspective, even the fans looked delighted with the news. One passionate fan said, “I started following her after the Chili bowl that Kyle, Brexton and Chris Bell ran a couple of years ago. Awesome that she got a deal with Toyota!”

On the other hand, one fan predicted a very bright future for Avedisian. He said, “Future Hendrick champion”. While appreciation came in Avedisian’s way, some fans pointed out how they knew she would make it big. One fan said, “@jadeavedisian is the real deal – glad to see her career progressing!”.

Another said, “I was a fan of @jadeavedisian long before most ever heard of her. I knew with her talent and brains she would go very far.” Among all the praise, one fan was keen to start some banter as he said, “Wake up babe new Deegan just dropped”.
