Tony Stewart is not just known for his racing prowess, but also for being a businessman. The 3-time NASCAR Cup Series champion has established a fair few race teams and even owns the Eldora Speedway. Among his many businesses is his Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) team. The team was founded in 2000 and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. This is because the organisation will be turning 25 in 2025.

In light of this, Stewart and his wife rang in the occasion. Since its inception, the organization has gone from strength to strength, winning a variety of championships in the dirt racing scene. Among them are 14 USAC titles, 9 World of Outlaws titles and 4 All Star Circuit of Champions TQ Midgets Series.

Currently, the team fields Donny Schatz in the World of Outlaws Series. Schatz has been in the TSR stable for a while now and even won several WoO championships with them. The silver jubilee event was celebrated with the help of PRI, and the couple were truly grateful for it.

Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett are proud of their project

Pruett said on Instagram, “Celebrated the 25th Anniversary of TSR this week, as 2025 will hit the quarter-century marker of success for Tony Stewart Racing. Was awesome, felt like PRI came to us lol. Thanks to all our partners that showed up and kicked off Performance Racing Industry [PRI] week with us.”

The team’s origins can be traced back to the 1990s, as Stewart co-owned USAC Silver Crown cars with Bob East. During that tenure, the duo won 16 feature events and turned the partnership into a truly lethal one. While the team was formed in 2000, its official dirt racing debut came in 2001, and it has grown into a juggernaut since then.

However, Stewart has had a finger in a number of pies, and he is juggling his drag racing career. As such, some sacrifices had to be made to ease the burden on him and his wife. Fortunately, TSR is completely unaffected, as that is his brainchild. In other words, the team will continue to operate smoothly for the foreseeable future.

Apparently, the only casualty was his NASCAR Cup team, Stewart-Haas Racing. Earlier this year, he announced that he was withdrawing his support from the team and Gene Haas would go it alone. Additionally, the team was downsized from four cars to one car, and they sold their charters.

When he spoke about the sale, Stewart admitted that he had no regrets over the sale. In his words, the sale took a lot of weight off his shoulders, and he is less stressed about it. Speaking about his other projects, he was still passionate about his sprint car team, the Eldora Speedway, and his Nitro teams.

Furthermore, a lot has changed for the 53-year-old on a personal level. In 2024, his wife Leah Pruett took a hiatus from racing because she was pregnant and recently gave birth to a son. Now that he is a new father, his priorities have started slowly shifting, and he is being kept busy.

So even though he had to bid farewell to his NASCAR team, it frees up his schedule for other things. With that, he will be able to compete in more sprint car races and pursue his drag racing career. With the 2024 season done and dusted, Stewart and his team can now switch focus to the upcoming season.
