Pruett qualified for the elimination round of the prestigious NHRA Western Swing. During Qualifying 2, she delivered a solid performance. Running a 7.504 ET at 88.84 mph, placing her as the provisional No. 9 qualifier at the #SonomaNats. Fueled by excitement, Tony Stewart Racing’s driver Leah Pruett took to social media to express her readiness for the upcoming eliminations at Sonoma Raceway.
The Tony Stewart Racing Nitro team also took to social media to commend her on her qualifying performance. “Tricky track conditions in Q2 led @leah.pruett to run a 7.504 ET at 88.84 mph. She’s the provisional No. 9 qualifier at the #SonomaNats.”

Leah has worked hard to bring Tony’s team its first Top Fuel win in NHRA. Speaking in a recent interview, Leah shed light on how she came into the team with just one old crew member and built a winning team out of it. Her journey with the Tony Stewart Racing Team has been nothing short of remarkable. She took on the role of crew chief for the first time. She exhibited an unwavering commitment to excellence from the outset, a trait she attributes to Tony’s influence.

Instead of following a traditional top-down approach, the team worked cohesively. With Neil being the backbone for creating the winning team alongside Dicky. Answering how the team had come together in such a quick time. She said, “Every person that is on this team, all of the partners that we have, everyone that’s on the team, its kind of a culmination of their own career. And that’s what we’re seeing today. The culture that we wanted to build for this team is what we have now, and that’s why we’re able to enjoy it as much as we do.”
Tony Stewart is also running full-time in the NHRA, but in the Top Alcohol Dragster instead of the Top Fuel Dragster. When asked about this, he responded, according to Autoweek: “I’ve driven a Top Fuel car 16 times.” And every run I make in it, every time I finish that run, the more I realize that I am not ready to drive a Top Fuel dragster. And I don’t belong in one right now.”
