Ever since its debut in 2021, the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) has been going from strength to strength. The brainchild of 3-time NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart is only growing bigger with each passing year. Now for its fourth season, the championship is adding another feather in its cap. Aside from the usual tracks like Stafford Speedway, Berlin Raceway and Slinger Speedway, a new track has joined: Cedar Lake Speedway.

This will be the first time that this Wisconsin track is featured on the SRX Series calendar. The best part is that it is not the only debutant, as the Thunder Road Speedbowl is also making its debut. According to the 2024 SRX calendar, Stafford kicks things off on July 11th, followed by Thunder Road a week later. The SRX drivers will soon get their first taste of Cedar Lake Speedway on August 8th, and there is still one venue left to confirm.

What can the SRX drivers expect for season 4 of the championship?

As mentioned before, there are a few familiar tracks. This includes the Stafford Speedway, which has been on the calendar since the very beginning. The Slinger Speedway returns for the first time since its debut in the inaugural season. Another familiar track is the Berlin Raceway, which retains its spot from the 2023 calendar. However, the drivers will step into unknown territory at the Cedar Lake Speedway and the Thunder Road Speedbowl.

Admittedly, the 2024 participants have yet to be confirmed. Though one can be sure that Tony Stewart will undoubtedly be back, since this is his own pet project. Maybe the likes of Bobby Labonte, Ryan Newman and Ken Schrader could return. Honestly speaking though, Newman had better turn up, if he ever wants to defend his 2023 crown.

Will there be any current NASCAR representation?

This is actually par for the course, if we’re being completely honest. No NASCAR drivers worth their salt will baulk at the chance of competing. During the 2023 campaign, there were eight current NASCAR Cup Series drivers on the grid. Out of those eight, Brad Keselowski was the only full-time Superstar Racing Experience driver. Meanwhile, the likes of Daniel Suarez, Chase Briscoe, Kyle Busch, Ryan Preece, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick were part-time drivers.

The SRX calendar is actually deliberately planned, keeping NASCAR in mind. This is because the series wants to attract NASCAR drivers, so the races are planned in such a way that there is no clash of dates. In fact, the SRX races are usually held on the Thursdays before the Cup Series race weekend. One thing is for sure, this latest announcement will definitely excite the fans and the prospective drivers.
