Matt Hagan, in his dynamic Dodge//SRT Hellcat, painted the track with record times but fell short in the climactic dash with Bob Tasca III. While Leah Pruett, the fiery maestro of the TSR Rinnai/Dodge//SRT Top Fuel dragster, sprinted through eliminations, setting the stages ablaze and orchestrating robust performances. Yet, the finale saw Doug Kalitta edging ahead, etching his win with a 3.745 to Pruett’s 3.778. Despite the near wins, Hagan pirouetted to the third position. Pruett waltzed to the fourth in their respective NHRA Countdown points standings.

Tony Stewart Racing Nitro tweeted this success on X with the caption: “.@LeahPruett_TF maintains the No. 6 provisional qualifying position at the #MidwestNats based off of Q1. Tricky track conditions in Q2 led LP to smoke the tires and run a 5.788 ET at 114.60 mph.”

Stewart-Haas Racing sensation Aric Almirola grabbed the limelight by securing the pole position for the qualifying at YellaWood 500. Displaying unrivalled speed, he overshadowed reigning NASCAR Cup Series champ Joey Logano by a fraction. But the question lingering in the air is: With a string of past achievements, will Almirola ascend to become an unparalleled racing legend?

“I’m just really proud of all the guys on this 10 team. It’s not a secret, this has been a tough year for us. So to show that kind of grit and resolve with everyone continuing to grind and work and bring fast race cars to the race track.” Almirola said of the four-car SHR organization that is still racing for its first win of the season.

He further added, “That says a lot about our race team. Just really proud. The driver has a small part to do with it at these places, but a lot of it is just the speed built into the cars.”
