Tony Stewart appears to be in a state of uncertainty, even within the drag racing world. Speaking at a press conference before the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Stewart openly discussed his reservations about expanding his involvement in the division. When inquired about Leah’s plans and the possibility of him competing in a race, Stewart playfully avoided the question.

He said, My wife has a lot of interesting ideas that she likes to talk about. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. She’s had a couple of different ideas. Matt’s had a – Matt normally gets one idea and he just runs straight. Railroad it all the way. All the way to the end on that idea. So, he’s got some, but, you know, there’s a lot of variables in the equation.”

According to him, there are a lot of ideas in the air and it’s going to take time to finally decide on something. Tony Stewart owns or co-owns plenty of ventures and a certain rumor about another sale is making the rounds.

Is Tony Stewart selling a “historic” dirt oval?

Ever since Tony Stewart decided to fold SHR, a fresh wave of rumor has come along, suggesting that he will be selling the Eldora Speedway, too. He purchased the speedway back in 2004 from Earl Baltes.

In a recent interview with FloRacing, he went ahead to clear the air surrounding the rumors. He said, I don’t know who was really bored at home and thought they were going to play a nice practical joke, but this track is not sold and it is not for sale. This is a tradition with Earl and Berneice, that they started back in’54 and we’re proud to be owners of this race track.”

According to him, selling was never in his books. He also addressed the fact that these rumors are detrimental to him, his partners, and his sponsors. This is because they hear the rumors and think maybe he has been honest or forthcoming with them. But fans on social media haven’t been forthcoming with his statements. One said, “He said the same thing about S/H 6 months ago??” another fan wrote, “At the most 2 years its sold. Would be surprised if it’s sooner. He wants to go drag racin with his wife and nothin else”

Fans at this moment are bitter about what went down with SHR and only time will say if he can ever regain their love and affection. What do you think will Stewart be more forthcoming and interested in his NHRA career? Let us know your thoughts.
