Tony Stewart’s Stewart-Haas Racing are looking to move on from their dreadful 2023 season. Had it not been Kevin Harvick at the helm, the team could have slid into deeper troubles. However, in 2024 Harvick won’t be there to save the team from the blushes and they will have to grind out the results on their own. While the team can recover from the loss of veteran drivers, SHR has a bigger problem on its hands as of now with losing multiple sponsors.

With the departures of Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola, it seems like the sponsors are also on their way out of Tony Stewart’s team. There have been reports about major sponsorship losses for the team. The list includes Busch Light, Gearwrench, Go Bowling, Hunts Brothers Pizza, Magical Vacation Planner, Pristine Auction, and so on. Moreover, there has been a confirmation on Gearwrench’s side who have now announced their partnership with the revamped Legacy Motor Club for the 2024 season.

For a team that had a nightmare season in the Cup series, one would expect radical changes or added reinforcements for the next challenge, right? However, for Stewart’s team, the possibility is starting to look bleak. He did promise to showcase SHR’s true identity but the recent events are painting a different picture altogether.

With Busch Light parting ways after Harvick’s last season in NASCAR, another major sponsor Gearwrench has now followed suit. The tool brand has now joined hands with Jimmie Johnson’s much-strengthened Legacy Motor Club team for the 2024 campaign. LMC made the partnership official with a post on X with a caption that read, “We just keep growing 💪 Welcome to the Club, GEARWRENCH!

There has to be a resurgence from SHR’s side and this is most likely to come from the drivers. All eyes will be on Chase Briscoe and Ryan Preece who are seen as Harvick’s replacements. While Stewart’s team can also rely on the likes of Josh Berry and Noah Gragson. To make all this happen, SHR will have to retain or bring in new sponsors. As of now, it looks like a daunting task for the team to put out four race cars on the grid but hopefully, they will find their way around the troubles.

For a NASCAR team to go about their business on the racetrack they need to have the backing of the sponsors and right now it’s the opposite for SHR. While a resurgence of sorts is needed for the team to overcome the disappointments of last season the recent sponsorship woes have only added to the list of concerns. NASCAR fans have taken notice of the situation at SHR and have listed their concerns for the team.

A supporter of Tony Stewart and SHR was in disbelief after they lost out on one of their sponsors. He wrote, “What on earth is happening to SHR”, while another one tried to sum up the feeling in limited words stating, “Ouch for SHR”.

One of the users was quick to point out the overreliance on Kevin Harvick and even went on to state that it was because of the veteran driver, that the team has survived for so long. “Harvick was the glue that held SHR together”.

While SHR is losing out on the momentum, a fan was quick to draw comparisons of SHR to Legacy Motor Club, who are certainly making mogul moves, building up steam for their 2024 launch, “@LEGACYMotorClub is building a lot of momentum for 2024”.

Optimism is not everyone’s cup of tea and those few like to predict the outcome of the future based on facts and not hopes and the same was the case with a SHR fan, “Prediction (and one that pains me to say it): SHR becomes this generation’s Roush Racing. Goes from top tier to having the top drivers leave and then losing sponsors with dwindling performance and becoming almost back marker drivers. And I’m a SHR fan. But the future looks rough”.
