Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett’s love story is straight out of a Hollywood script. Introduced by racing legend Don Prudhomme, the two met at just the right time in their lives. Though both were in other relationships initially, their connection didn’t begin until after they had moved on. Stewart recalled how he once drove six hours overnight to meet Pruett for lunch – proving some risks are worth taking both on and off the track.

Their relationship blossomed during the pandemic, with what was supposed to be a four-day visit turning into four months together. The couple got engaged in 2021 and married later that year, cementing their bond both personally and professionally. They welcomed their son, Dominic James Stewart, on Nov. 17, 2024. And it was just a matter of time before the racing couple introduced their little one to the world of motorsports.

Is a new Tony ‘Smoke’ Stewart in the making already?

In a moment that had fans swooning, Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett introduced baby Dominic James to the racetrack for the first time. The proud parents captured the special occasion in an Instagram post, shared across Tony Stewart’s, Leah Pruett’s, Dodge Mopar Sports’, and TSR Nitro’s accounts, delighting racing fans everywhere.

“Introducing Dom to the racetrack life 😁,” read the post’s caption with a picture of Dom cradling his son with Leah beside them. The birth of Dominic is an interesting story in itself. Tony Stewart was competing in the NHRA Finals at Pomona when he received the news that Leah Pruett had gone into labor. Without hesitation, he made a cross-country dash from Pomona, California, to Phoenix, Arizona.

“I don’t care what happens. I won at 4:43 this morning when Leah gave birth to our son.” Stewart shared later with reporters. True to his racer spirit, Stewart was back in Southern California by 8 a.m. for his first-round match-up with Billy Torrence. Despite the whirlwind experience, Stewart powered through to a semifinal finish, showing his resilience both as a new dad and a fierce competitor. Leah Pruett, on the other hand, has been on a different adventure altogether ever since.
