Hendrick Motorsports and success in NASCAR have been sticking together for a long time. Very few teams have tasted success the way Hendrick Motorsports has. The team and its roster drivers throughout the years have surely dictated and shaped the sport, the way it is now. The team knows what losing means, with more than two hundred victories in its long legacy.

However, it seems that the ongoing season is perhaps not the year of the legendary team, which has churned out more champions than any other team on the grid. On the current roster of four drivers, only two have sealed their berths to enter the playoffs, while Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman are way below the cutline to make them eligible for the postseason.

Nevertheless, the speedster of Hendrick Motorsports is still optimistic for his two teammates as he charts out his plans for the playoffs to the media.

Hendrick Motorsports driver reveals his intentions for his teammates

With just six races left in the regular season, time is surely running away for both Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman, as both the star drivers are yet to secure their first victory of the and make their headway to the postseason. Fans and his teammates are positive about the fact that both drivers will be able to turn the tide and given the fact that neither of the drivers has never missed the playoffs after upgrading to the elite format.

Even Kyle Larson has a firm conviction that his teammates will be able to turn the table. In an interview with Fronstretch, the 2021 Cup Series champion was asked the question, “Kyle, you talked about time running out obviously for your teammates, but if they do not make the playoff field does it really change anything for you and for William?”

To this, Larson retorted, “I don’t know, that’s a good question that I don’t really have any answer for, so I hope that we are not in that position. I would rather have more teammates in the Playoffs to give ourselves all, more chances to win a championship range of motorsports so, I hope we are not in that position but, I don’t really know.”

“I don’t wanna even think about that either. I want to think about them both being in the playoffs with us,” Larson affirmed.

With every passing week, things are surely becoming grim for both Bowman and Elliott, however, Bowman believes the fact that there is still hope left in the team and things might change for the better in the upcoming races.

In a conversation with Bob Pockrass, the Hendrick Motorsports driver stated, “It’s probably a little bit of both. Sitting out of a race car for four weeks while everybody’s in the race car getting better is definitely not a good thing. You definitely fall behind a little bit there. But the garage, the ebbs and flows of it […]”

“Obviously, we were super strong each and every week then. Not that we’re not strong right now, I just feel like other guys have definitely gotten stronger. We’re all working hard at it.”
