Kyle Busch has been in the sport of NASCAR nearing two decades soon, but back in 2019, he was asked how did he feel about having longevity in the sport. While comparing how Jimmie Johnson was an ace during his early years but with age started to show signs of struggle with his skills, Busch explained how he approached the thought of what would come in the future.

During an interview with the Daily Republic, Busch was asked, “Ten years? Longevity in NASCAR is obviously different compared to stick-and-ball sports, but when you see stars like Jimmie Johnson struggling as they get older, what makes you confident you’ll still be going strong in a decade?”
Busch answered, “You know, I don’t know. I just would like to think so. You’ve got to have a little Tom Brady factor right now.”
“Tom did the same thing in his 30s. When he was 33, 35, he started to get really heavy on eating better and a workout regime and getting healthier, and it’s kind of given him a longer career, and I’m doing some of the same stuff now in order to try to preserve time and get myself through to years down the road.”

During the same interview, the JGR driver stated that he never actively thought about building a legacy in NASCAR. Instead, he mentioned that he was more inclined on focusing what was ahead of him and focus on improving his ‘racecraft’.
The two-time Cup Series Champion then mentioned how he struggled in his early years, cradled with rough behavior on and off track. He also stated how that had improved over the years and that he had not seen the inside of a hauler to be reprimanded.
