Denny Hamlin's daughters stole the show—did this moment bring a tear to your eye too?

The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, started by the NASCAR veteran Martin Truex Jr., is involved in many cancer awareness and treatment fundraisers. Recently, the MTJ Foundation hosted its signature event “Catwalk for a Cause”. This event was the dream project of the 2017 Cup Series champion and his late girlfriend, Sherry Pollex, which they both started in 2009.

The goal of the event is to empower children diagnosed with cancer as they were made the stars of a fashion show. In the event, children are paired with NASCAR drivers and their significant others for a ramp walk. This year we saw Kyle Larson and Katelyn Larson walking the ramp in the event. Adding to the heartfelt moments, Denny Hamlin’s daughter got the opportunity to sing at the event, making the crowd her fan and Hamlin a proud father.

The event in its 14th edition was held in collaboration with the Sherry Strong Foundation, which was created to carry on the legacy of Sherry Pollex, who was a strong advocate for women fighting ovarian cancer and children suffering from pediatric cancer. Her Philanthropic efforts to fight cancer are well known. Although she’s gone, her work continues to speak. MTJ, speaking about the event, said, “We are looking forward to continuing Catwalk for a Cause in conjunction with Sherry Strong. The event is always such a special night for children and their families going through an unimaginable diagnosis. To be able to put a smile on these kids’ faces and raise a lot of money in support of integrative treatment to help them on their journey is what it is all about.”

According to the MTJ Foundation’s website, since the event’s inception, “Catwalk for a Cause” has raised over 5 million dollars for pediatric and ovarian cancer initiatives. This year’s theme for the fashion show was an adorable magical fairy garden. Where some kids were dressed as fairies. Adding more awe to the event was Denny Hamlin’s daughter, Taylor, who got the chance to showcase her beautiful voice. Her touching performance had everyone moved, including the NASCAR veteran.

Hamlin was naturally proud of his daughter, as he took to X and wrote, “Proud is an understatement Thank you @mtjfoundation @sherrystrongoc for including Taylor to sing the finale at last night’s Catwalk for a Cause 🎤 We are so grateful for all the work you do for these kids and in our community. #catwalkforacause.”

Hamlin is a team owner and race car driver on track but has to switch roles to a father of two when home. The couple was blessed with another daughter, Molly, in 2017. Hamlin, being the wonderful father he is, is often seen encouraging his daughter’s talents. This is not the first time Taylor has taken the limelight with her singing, only last year an adorable video of her singing went viral. She performed the role of ‘Dorothy from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz series’ and left everyone in awe. Just like her current performance, where a fan was in tears after listening to her. The fan wrote, “This made me cry. Taylor has a beautiful voice.”

The ‘Catwalk for a Cause’ event had about 400 people and for an 11-year-old to muster courage in front of a large crowd is commendable. She surely has 400 new fans and many more online. One fan on Hamlin’s post wrote, “I am LIVING for this! Taylor was absolutely stunning.” Another fan predicted the bright future of Hamlin’s daughter, as the fan wrote, “She’s a star in the making!”

This was a total ‘like father, like daughter’ moment for the NASCAR veteran. Similar to how Hamlin stuns everyone with his incredible runs on the track, Taylor did the same on the stage with her beautiful voice. It won’t be long before she starts filling out stadiums for her concerts. One fan congratulated Hamlin for raising a wonderful daughter, and wrote, “Amazing! You should be proud Denny!”

Like our 53 Cup series race-winning driver, Taylor is also destined for greatness. And she surely takes a lot of inspiration from her father. Even when it comes to fashion choices! One fan made a peculiar observation in Hamlin’s post. The father-daughter-duo was seen wearing the same white sneakers. The fan found it delightful as he wrote, “She is definitely her father’s daughter, with her sneakers ❤❤”
