With the biggest race of the year set to happen this weekend, drivers are surely feeling the pressure to perform. And especially Kyle Busch, who is looking for a maiden win at the Daytona 500 after two decades in the circuit. However, it looks like the RCR driver has taken up a new approach to deal with the jitters. Surprisingly, the usually serious Kyle Busch has taken an uncharacteristic and ‘groovy’ approach to the race. And when videos of his amateur dance moves hit social media, son Brexton Busch couldn’t help but express his embarrassment on Twitter.

Kyle Busch dances his way to the Daytona 500 Speedweeks

The build-up to the Daytona 500 usually entails Cup Series drivers preparing themselves physically and mentally for the season’s most prestigious race. Continuous practice sessions on the track and simulators, team meetings, and strategic discussions are things that enter a NASCAR fan’s mind when talking about a race as grand as the Daytona 500. However, Kyle Busch has decided to blow some steam off by taking to the dance floor.

The Richard Childress Racing No.8 driver tweeted, “Time to get groovy, it’s @DAYTONA 500 week!”

Brexton Busch has accompanied his dad on multiple tours, the most recent being in Oklahoma. But, even he was surprised to see his father get this jolly in the RCR garage. Revealing his emotions through a tweet and hilariously taking a dig at his father, Brexton wrote, “C’mon dad, this is embarrassing.”

While Busch might seem to be having fun, he is also looking for a redemption arc after a topsy-turvy season in 2023. Having struggled in the season’s later months, he couldn’t find the winning pace in the playoffs. Despite winning three races last year, he ended his campaign with some unfulfilled wishes. From the looks of it, Busch seems confident before going out to challenge for a first Daytona 500 win in a career spanning 20 years.

Kyle Busch hasn’t been shy about expressing his disdain about missing a Daytona 500 win, either. In a recent interview with FOX Sports, he revealed, “Man, I would love nothing more than to win the Daytona 500.″ However, according to his former teammate Denny Hamlin, the 20-year-long wait ends in 2024.

When Hamlin asked his co-host of Actions Detrimental, Jared Allen, to present his bold predictions for the Daytona 500, he named some unexpected winners. However, Denny was unsatisfied with the answer and claimed that Kyle Busch was a talent who deserved to win the crown jewel of NASCAR after 20 years of searching. Justifying his opinion, Hamlin said,

“Okay, there are like 30 guys that have never won it that are probably gonna be in this field. So you get what I’m saying? You gotta be more specific if you’re gonna be bold and mine is that Kyle Busch wins it for the first time after 20 years of trying, 20 years of frustration,”

Considering Kyle Busch’s caliber, Denny Hamlin’s prediction might not be as bold as it seems. A two-time Cup Series champion not having won the Daytona 500 is a mere coincidence. While some incredibly talented drivers in the current driver roster have missed a Daytona 500 win, Kyle Busch indeed stands out among them.
