NASCAR Cup Series racing hasn’t been fruitful for Kyle Busch so far in the season. Seen as the savior to pull Richard Childress Racing out of the ditch, they are far from achieving that feat. However, there were a few positive runs by the No. 8 team, but they are yet to clinch their first win of the season. Busch might not have a win to show against his rivals, but he sure has managed to keep himself clean and compete so far. However, the same cannot be said for his opponents, as the former JGR driver revealed how funky some of the drivers smelled after the race.
Kyle Busch has managed to keep his fire suit dry and clean
Rowdy was featured on The Pat McAfee Show, and he was bombarded with a series of questions by McAfee. Starting off, he explained to Busch how a bathroom break delayed his segment on the show. It sure seemed staged because his first question to the RCR driver was about how many fire suits he spoiled after running nine races this season, along with his on-track performances.

Coming off strong, McAee asked, “How’s the season going? And how many suits have we p**d in during the race?” In reply, Kyle Busch summarized his entire season while also revealing that he has raced pretty cleanly and how he’s managed to keep his car clean so far. “All fire suits are clean, I can confirm all is good on that end. I can’t say the same for some of my competitors, you know. They’re not smelling right when it comes to the end.”
Busch also spoke about his win at Talladega last year and how he is optimistic about repeating it this weekend. “I mean, Talladega has always been kind of crapshoot. You are all bunched up tight, and there’s a lot of action. I was able to scooch on through on the bottom side, got the lead and when the caution comes out in the final lap and race is over. We were in the right position at the right time… I want to carry out Cheddar’s colors to victory lane again. Let’s go do it.”

During the COVID-19 days, in order to save on the extra costs of running the racecars, NASCAR cut down the practice time to 20 minutes. However, with things returning to normalcy, the governing body seemed to have stuck by the practice. One that is not appreciated by the teams and the drivers.

“So when we get to a race track, we go out to a race track, and we have 20 minutes of practice, and we qualify, and then we go right into the race. So in the years prior, before COVID era, it always was like, two or three hours of practice that you would have for any given weekend. So a lot more time to fine-tune the cars, to work on the cars. Pretty much now, when you show up to the track, you get in and you get a little bit, and there’s not a whole lot you can adjust on the car with the new rules,” Kyle Busch added.
Kyle Busch has shown speed this season, but the inconsistent runs have just not allowed him to compete for the win. With the Talladega superspeedway race this weekend, he will fancy his chances of being back in the victory lane.
