NASCAR only has three owners, who are affiliated to get cars for their teams. One of them is Chevrolet, the other is Toyota and the third one is Ford. We all know the three manufacturers. But many people still wonder how much role does the manufacturer play? Do they give any benefits to the teams Hendrick Motorsports and Spire Motorsports, and others?

Well, it really depends.

Anyone who has seen a video or heard any of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcasts knows who Brett Griffin is. The NASCAR spotter answered this question in a recent episode of Door, Bumper, Clear!

Griffin said, “Just because you see a manufacturer on a car, it doesn’t mean they do a lot for you. There are teams that it does, if you’re Hendrick Motorsports, you’re Chevrolet, they’re giving you everything. They’re giving you millions of dollars, they’re giving you tons of company cars, they’re giving you whatever you want in terms of back in the day what would be tunnel times.”

So, basically, it really depends on the team. Because Hendrick Motorsports is the top team in NASCAR. Naturally, Chevrolet would keep a good relationship with the team to make Mr. H keeps them as their manufacturer. And if the top team in NASCAR is driving a Chevrolet, it directly means the fans will want a Chevrolet too.

However, when we talk about smaller teams, like Spire Motorsports which is fairly new (and backed by Hendrick Motorsports), the picture is quite different. The Spotter explained, “Then there are Chevrolet teams that only get company cars for the drivers. And then there are Chevrolet teams that don’t get a damn thing.”

Surely, it depends on the team and their performance, too. Clearly, Hendrick is the poster child of well-performing cars in NASCAR.

Hendrick has put all 4 of its teams in playoffs, and none of those has been eliminated yet, so they will proceed to the round of 12. Moreover, the Playoffs point leader right now is also a Hendrick driver, who also won the regular season. Of course, we’re talking about Chase Elliott.

In fact, out of 4, three drivers are already in the playoff top 5, with Bowman in 10th.
