Just like any other sport, NASCAR also is an ever-developing, ever-evolving sport. In fact, considering the level of danger and risk involved in the sport just in the name of an occupational hazard, stock car racing has to always be on its feet. They have improved rules and regulations when it comes to increasing safety and protecting all those involved.
Recently, a major decision was taken by NASCAR in that direction after it made a few things compulsory for the drivers.
According to journalist Bob Pockrass, it is now mandatory for a driver to wear a ‘Head Sock and/or Helmet Skirt’, ‘Underwear’, and ‘Socks’.

Fans find this recent rule change of compulsion quite funny
Without a doubt, NASCAR fans have some of the most engaging and dynamic personalities in comparison to the fan bases of other sports. They’re not shy about expressing their happiness when something strikes a chord with them. Neither are they afraid to vent their dissent and frustration when something doesn’t ring a bell.
However, in the case of the sport finally making things like underwear or socks compulsory from those previously falling under the ‘recommended’ category, fans couldn’t help but find the funny aspect of the whole thing.

I'm surprised that wasn't already required.

I’d hate to be the official in charge of making sure everyone has approved underwear on lol

The fans have not taken well all recent decisions by NASCAR
The fans took the decision to make certain things compulsory for the safety of the drivers in a fun way. However, there have been some recent decisions by NASCAR, which didn’t go down as well. For instance, when it was announced that rapper Wiz Khalifa will be performing at the Half Time Show of the Clash at The Coliseum, fans were quite mad.

The Coliseum was a divisive venue for the Clash. But having a hip-hop artist in a sport that has its roots in the South where country music is preferred, was a brave decision for the second year in a row.

Last year it was Ice Cube who performed at the halftime, and that, despite the initial skepticism, turned out to be a pretty decent show. This would be again the expectations from NASCAR, who are hoping to mend their fanbase in a new direction.

Whether they actually follow the sport where it’s trying to go, well, only time will tell.
