In 2023, there will be a lot of chopping and changing on the NASCAR grid. A few drivers will be driving in unfamiliar teams, like Kyle Busch who leave Joe Gibbs Racing for Richard Childress Racing. In turn, Tyler Reddick will move to the 23XI Racing team, partnering with Bubba Wallace. Furthermore, he is replacing Kurt Busch, who will compete for 23XI Racing on a part-time basis. Ahead of the brand new campaign, former NASCAR drivers Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray previewed the season.

Speaking on the NASCAR Race Hub, Bowyer said, “I heard you talk about a collaboration with Chevrolet and how they were able to advance the program. Win more races, that has to come from some other part, right? In my opinion, it came from the Toyota camp. So for Toyota to get back on track, they need this 23XI camp, in addition to Tyler Reddick, to really step up to the plate. I think they will.”

What lies ahead for Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick?

Without a doubt, roping in Reddick was a brilliant idea, as he is a talented driver. Last year, he was constantly in the running for race wins, and it finally paid off with three wins during the season. When that first win came at Road America, 23XI Racing struck first, while RCR deliberated about a contract extension. Additionally, Bubba Wallace is also a solid driver and has shown himself to be consistent.

If we’re being honest, the Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan-owned team could be dark horses. Both Wallace and Reddick are talented and have race wins under their belts. As they are both in the prime of their careers, the 23XI Racing team has a solid foundation for their future. Of course, Kurt Busch is still there on the team, ready to lend as much of his experience as possible. Just so that he could contribute to the outfit’s growth.
