After Kyle Busch won his first race of the season in Fontana, his stock went up considerably well among the fans, the industry insiders, as well as his peers, the drivers. Of the drivers who praised him, who reminded everyone why he is one of the best, Chase Elliott called out those who were a little taken by Busch’s win.
“That’s mind-boggling to me that anybody would be surprised that Kyle is a fantastic, one of the best racecar drivers to ever do this, and that didn’t change overnight,” the Hendrick Motorsports driver said in a post-race interview.
Elliott added that anybody who is surprised over Busch’s win better “rethink their NASCAR knowledge.”

And now, reacting to Elliott’s comments, Brett Griffin, the NASCAR spotter of Justin Haley, has come out with a big prediction for Rowdy’s 2023 season.
Kyle Busch could have a big season in 2023 thanks to his new team
Speaking in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Brett Griffin was asked to share his thoughts on the comments Chase Elliott made on Kyle Busch after his first win.
“I mean, I don’t think it’s a surprise Kyle Busch won. I think it’s a surprise he won this early…that car has been lights out fast last year, and I could see him having a 5-win season, I really can,” the spotter said.

Griffin also touched upon the main reasons, apart from the obvious for all that Busch may achieve at the end of the year, and why it won’t be entirely because of his ‘pure talent’, but because of the car and team he’s a part of.

“You remind yourself how freaking good that team is, and that’s like, ‘Dude they may set the world on fire.’ This may be a championship run contending team and it’s early in the season to say that, a lot of racing is left but certainly looks that way,” he emphasized.
Because as per the spotter, the drivers don’t matter as much as they used to when it comes to the ingredients of the winning formula, even if you’re Kyle Busch.

“I think the cars have a little bit more parity,” he added.
