In a rare respite from what has been a challenging season, Kyle Busch was spotted with his family on vacation. Even though the trip wasn’t off to a good start, his wife, Samantha Busch, has had a surreal experience one which includes a visit to her ancestral home – the house where her father grew up. In a poignant post, she reflected on how the experience was truly grounding, a welcome contrast to the high-octane world of racing.
Busch is having a far from ideal season in NASCAR. His winless run means his playoff chances are distancing with every race, as he sits 18th in the standings. Therefore, his family vacation in Italy was much-needed to enjoy some la dolce vita!

What better way to spend the Olympic break than a family vacation? Samantha, who religiously posts everything about their trip on Instagram, is giving fans a front-row seat to their exciting adventure. The trip has taken them to Caivano in Naples. It is a city in Italy where Samantha’s father, Steve Sarcinella, spent his childhood.
Samantha posted photos of her family in the beautiful streets of Caivano. The photos were presented in a carousel, where the family visited the house where Steve was raised. According to Samantha, growing up, her father would always tell them his childhood stories of struggles and hardships. For her, it all came to life when they visited his house.
She said, “Growing up my Pops always told us stories of how he grew up in Italy and came over by boat with four other siblings ages 18 months to 6 years old my dad being the oldest (my Nonnie was clearly a saint). He explained how they grew up poor, how they worked their whole lives, starting so young to help the family pay for food and other necessities.”
In a video in the carousel, we also see her father talking about his house. He mentions, “There is one square room in here, bed kitchen and a toilet.”

The experience was moving for Samantha as she could relate to the values that she was taught in her childhood. She said, “It put my childhood into perspective. How I was raised, the values that were instilled. Why my Nonnie always served so much food and yelled mangia (eat) to us constantly. Why my dad always fought to give us the best and how proud he was when I went to college.”
Samantha majored in psychology at Purdue University and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. In her post, she seemed overwhelmed realizing his father’s upbringing and the efforts he put in for her.
Earlier, on July 28, Samantha revealed that she and her husband faced a sleep-deprived first day on their vacation. It began with a two-hour flight delay and a later dinner, which meant their two-year-old daughter Lennix was tired. Samantha mentioned that her daughter was awake for four and a half hours out of the seven-hour flight. Afterward, Samantha, said she felt “so disoriented” on Day 1 of their trip.
But after a visit to her ancestral home, she is already feeling better. After their touching experience, where is the Busch family headed next?
