Despite facing unfavorable circumstances, Kyle Busch showed the world why he is one of the best by finishing 11th and 7th in Darlington and Kansas, respectively. Next up, Rowdy will go to a track where he has had a good record but which is also one of the toughest tracks to race on, Bristol. Given his record, Busch must be confident going into the 500-lap race, but one of his rivals believes that things won’t be easy for anybody.
Busch currently sits in seventh place on the NASCAR Cup Series table and is 24 points ahead of the cutline. If he manages to keep his car on track and finish the race in a decent position, he will be through to the last 12. Most fans and experts believe that Kyle Busch will be able to manage himself well at Bristol and get the job done.

Ahead of the playoffs, Busch sounded quite confident about the playoffs on an episode of the MRN NASCAR Live podcast. While he said that he could get good results on all three tracks, his thoughts about Bristol made it look like he was looking forward to that particular race more than the others.
“The first round is actually our strongest round because Darlington—as I mentioned the success there, Kansas—we were a top-5 car there earlier in the spring, got caught up in a wreck at the restart…In Bristol: Kyle Busch and Bristol, who doesn’t love that?” he had said at the time.
Kyle Busch might have had to start from the back of the grid in both Darlington and Kansas, but his car was fast enough to finish high up the pack, so he does have a point there. But will he be right about Bristol? His stats certainly say so. Busch has had three wins and seven top-five finishes in the last 10 races on the track. However, the last couple of races for him at Bristol were not exactly flattering, with him finishing 34th and 21st.
Regardless of who you might be, the Bristol Motor Speedway is a very difficult track to navigate 500 laps on. Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing’s Chris Buescher spoke about how tough the track is on a recent episode of the NASCAR Live podcast, stating that drivers could not afford to lose concentration even for a second.
“It’s Bristol, there’s no escape. You could be leading the race and you can run into a wreck if you’re not careful.”
“You got to stay focused because the smallest lapse of judgment can end your day quickly. It’s such a fast race track to be just a half mile but it’s very difficult. It’s very physical. You just got to work hard, stay focused,” Buescher said.

When asked why he liked Bristol so much, Chris Buescher said that there was an element of nostalgia when it came to the track for him, and the fact that it delivered one of the toughest races of the season made it one of the best speedways in the country.
“Bristol’s been my favorite race track well before I ever made a lap there. The Bristol night race to me is such a difficult race, it’s for all the same reasons”, said Chris Buescher.

“It’s so popular in our sport. To me, that’s the race that I loved watching as a fan growing up as much as any other one, probably more than any other one. It’s just, it’s been at the top of my bucket list for a really long time and I just feel like when you go to that one,” the 2023 Daytona winner said.
It might be his favorite track, and it might be one of Kyle Busch’s stronger tracks, but neither of them will have it easy come Sunday. Both of them are above the cutline ahead of the final round of 16 races, but their round of 12 berth is not yet confirmed. They will have a task on their hands, and a track like Bristol can make any job just that much harder.
