Drivers protesting for more practice time isn’t news anymore. But the latest person to criticize NASCAR for the limited laps is Thorsport Racing’s latest recruit, Hailie Deegan, who knows why older drivers are so much better than rookies.

Hailie Deegan just made her big switch to Thorsport Racing. Unfortunately, the first obstacle for her was something that plenty of NASCAR drivers have struggled with who are moving to newer teams. And that is nothing other than the very limited practice time they get.
Deegan said, “I definitely think that more practice would obviously be nice and help me more. I think any driver, any young driver coming into it, the more practice you can get, the better you’re gonna be, the more laps you have.”
In fact, she believes that’s what makes such a big divide between new NASCAR drivers and older drivers, “There’s a reason why older drivers that are experienced are usually better. So it’s because of all the laps that they have. And when you don’t get practice a long time practice it does make it harder.”
However, older drivers aren’t immune to practice, because Jimmie Johnson said he will struggle at Daytona himself.

Johnson made a big return to NASCAR and headed to the Phoenix test. But he came out and openly said that it will be completely useless for him in Daytona, “You know different rules packages, different track… much different track, and the concept with which you race. But I’ll take any laps that I can get at this point.”
He further added, “I’ll just try to learn and understand this car and then, what I learn in Phoenix won’t necessarily apply for Daytona,”

It sure is a bummer for all the drivers, because Tyler Reddick will also feel the challenge along with Noah Gragson. But it doesn’t look like NASCAR has any plans to modify its rules. So, what do you think will happen?
