Dale Earnhardt Jr and Ryan Blaney go back a long way. The 49-year-old was one of the few people who believed that the Team Penske man had what it takes to win the Cup Series and he made his prediction pretty early in the season. Now, the 2023 Cup Series champion recently revealed that he used to have a lot of fun with Junior but things have mellowed down ever since he became a father to two.

In a recent episode of the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, Ryan Blaney recalled the time he lived in close quarters with Junior. He revealed that there were a lot of wild moments that he experienced but was reluctant to disclose, giving fans yet more insight into the life of the two-time Xfinity Series champion.

No, It Was a Disaster This Time

Junior and Ryan Blaney share a strong relationship even today as the former has often sung the Team Penske man’s praises. This year’s champion used to live on Junior’s property for three years. He recalls the time with a lot of fondness as he was a rookie at the time, about 21 years of age, which would make it almost a decade ago.

“I love Dale. I lived on Dale’s property for like three years. I lived right across the woods from there, the Whisky River town… funnest times of my life. I was a rookie in the Cup series, I’m 21 years old living by myself in the house I’m renting for the first time, and Dale’s 1,000 yards through the woods. Dale was still racing at the time,”  he said.

However, the 29-year-old revealed that things are softer when the JR Motorsports owner is concerned. The reason for that is that Junior now has commitments that he did not back then, including his two daughters. However, as per Blaney, the two did a lot of “wild stuff” back in the day.

“Yeah, it’s slowing down a little bit. They also got a couple of kids now so it’s slowing down but there was some wild stuff that happened in the town that I can’t say,” the Ohio-born driver suspensefully added.

Ryan Blaney also revealed the times he and Junior used to get back from races and spend a fun time together before taking a dangerous ride back to his place late at night through the woods.

It’s no wonder that Ryan Blaney says that the times he spent with Junior were some of the most fun moments of his life. Believing his stories, the two certainly spent a lot of good times together.

“So we would get done with these races on Sunday night, get home at 10, 10:30. I would go drive a four-wheeler through the woods to Dale’s house and get absolutely wrecked for like six hours, and then one-eye a four-wheeler through the woods back to my place. That was like the funnest years of my life, Dale is so much fun,” the 29-year-old added.
