Ever since the ‘rumors’ of Richard Childress Racing being the most probable landing spot for Kyle Busch in 2023 came to light, many have wondered one thing; What if the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is handed the keys to the #3 car?
After all, Busch could be THE ONE to bring glory back to the #3 team which is forever linked with arguably the greatest driver in the sport, Dale Earnhardt.

This was something that a NASCAR fan recently wondered too, whether RCR would actually consider putting Busch in the seat currently occupied by Austin Dillon.
And while nobody can know for sure what would actually happen until it happens, a certain Dale Earnhardt Jr. offered his take on this situation.
“I wish they could retire the current stylized font, then make an entirely new font/design. Then by all means,” Earnhardt Jr. wrote. “I wanna go back to when you saw that number on a number plate or anywhere and you KNEW they were 100% Earnhardt Sr.”
Pending Kyle Busch’s Tuesday announcement and the reported destination, @NASCARonReddit pondered how it would feel to see Busch drive the No. 3 Chevrolet. (To be clear, that’s pure speculation.)@DaleJr offered his take: pic.twitter.com/jYTBvNEjqP

But if Busch is to be believed, the past is in the past now.
“It was fine the first time I sat down with him and everything was okay. The biggest thing about it was just having an opportunity to kind of put that behind us,” he said in a recent interview. “You get through it and you talk about it and life moves on.”
