In a short span of time, Dale Earnhardt Jr‘s CARS Tours Series has captured the attention of the fans. The short-format racing brings back the thrill and excitement of old-school NASCAR races in a new layout. Founded in 1997, the series unlike NASCAR focuses on racing in short tracks.

However, NASCAR nation has a situation at hand as CARS Tours has suspended its driver for probation violation, making the racing community anxious. Ask why? Well, a 17-year-old driver who is active in the ARCA Menards Series has got a ride in the Truck Series as part of a multi-race contract with Thorsport Racing. 10th October is a special day for ardent #88 fans. It is the birthday of their favorite driver and arguably one of the best drivers to come out of the sport. NASCAR’s most popular Dale Earnhardt Jr turned 49-years-old as NASCAR nation showers their wishes on the veteran.

While the racing community was having a ball, things quickly got a bitter taste when news about Conner Jones‘ 1-race suspension made the headlines. The CARS Tours officials handed a one-race suspension to Jones who violated his probation during last Saturday’s race at South Boston Speedway.

He will be suspended from the upcoming race on October 21 at the Tri Country Speedway. But what has caught the attention of racing fans is the 16-year-old’s unprofessionalism and the way he conducts himself around the track. According to Section 1A of the penalties chapter of the rulebook, Jones was deemed to be in violation of probation by rough driving and actions detrimental to the series and its reputation.

Jones is an active driver in NASCAR’s ARCA circles and got his big break when he signed a multi-race deal with Thorsport Racing for the 2023 season. The Virginia native made his Truck Series debut in Martinsville back in April, becoming the youngest driver in the history of the establishment since 1996.

However, the youngster’s naivety and amateurish approach to the sport has the community concerned. Reacting to the news, fans tagged the tweet on Reddit as they went about with the discussion, mentioning their concerns.

The thought of Conner Jones and Jesse Love in trucks next year has to be scary for team owner’s pocket books,” wrote one fan who stated the obvious, citing how such drivers can be hard to deal with.

Not a fan of Conner after I saw him stop his truck, brought out a caution flag, and then drove away at North Wilkesboro earlier this year. NASCAR penalized him two laps for that discretion. So this news sadly doesn’t surprise me.”

Whereas another user commented, “The truck series is so f*cked,” subtly hinting at the already controversial series.

“Oh boy.”

“It’s sad how this latest batch of up-and-coming drivers are jackasses both on and off the track (moreso than usual). Love, Hingorani, and Conner Jones have got to be the most unlikable trio to come up through the ranks we’ve seen in a long time.”
