The NASCAR world has had a lot to celebrate since the Cup Series began this year. Though it has not brought much good news for 23XI Racing, the team’s co-owner Denny Hamlin will not allow that to dilute his Vegas experience. The next race takes the teams and drivers to Las Vegas, and there are a couple of things that come to mind whenever Vegas is mentioned.

The city has all the glitz and glamour one can dream of experiencing—from performing arts and music concerts to the biggest casinos in the world. In a recent episode of the Actions Detrimental podcast, Hamlin talked about his love for Las Vegas. Hamlin hinted at his love of gambling in Vegas.

The city is all about taking risks and enjoying life to the fullest. At least Hamlin feels this way. During the conversation, he mentioned, “I love Vegas. I mean, I’m not afraid to hit the tables there. That’s fun. I’d never gamble enough to where I get emotional though.”

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver said he doesn’t mind betting but also preaching restraint. He has his ways of dealing with betting without being disappointed. He shared something from his experience about taking things easy when it comes to gambling. He said,

“I don’t get emotionally attached to the money because I know it’s easy come easy go. I’ve seen it come in, I’ve seen it go out. So hopefully we’re gonna win though. We had a big run there at resorts last year. The tables are good to me, which is probably why I’m going back.

Despite leading in 31 laps, Hamlin could only manage a 32nd-place finish in the 2022 Pennzoil 400—a brain-fade moment cost him the win. The new Next Gen cars have a different shifting pattern. It no longer supports the old H-pattern and Hamlin’s miss-shift had his car spin out. Though Hamlin has shared that he has been improving his performance after struggling last year, the memories of last year’s race are still nightmarish for him.
