At the World Wide Technology Raceway, Ross Chastain didn’t make too many friends on the track. In fact, he annoyed several drivers, including Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and many more. Hamlin, in particular, was quite incensed and spent a fair amount of the race harrying the Trackhouse Racing driver.

In a Door Bumper Clear podcast, spotter Freddie Kraft spoke about the #1 driver’s antics on track. He said, “It looked to me yesterday like the Ross Chastain don’t give a f*** tour made a stop in St. Louis. He flat out wrecked Denny that was brutal. It looked to me like they were getting frustrated racing around each other. He just wrecked Denny, like run him over.”

“Chase Elliott, he just kind of put himself in a spot where he didn’t need to be. Turning Chase off around Turn 4, he launched Logano into Turn 3. At the bottom of 3, ran him over and just launched him in there. Did the same thing to the #34 (Michael McDowell) late in the race. Just got on his bumper into 3, launched him in there.”

Will Ross Chastain and his rivals calm down?

Of course, Chastain really cannot afford to get involved in any feuds in the next few races. This is because he is in the thick of the championship battle. The same applies to all of his World Wide Technology Raceway victims, Hamlin, Elliott, and Logano. Fortunately, all four drivers have won at least one race so far, so they have comfortably qualified for the Playoffs.

On the other end of the scale, fans should be praying that nobody holds a season-long grudge. Judging from how furious Denny Hamlin was, there is a concern that he will make life unpleasant for Chastain.
