Last week’s Cook Out 400 lacked the usual NASCAR race shenanigans that fans have grown accustomed to. The Richmond Raceway hosted a remarkably calm event with only three cautions, two of which resulted from stage breaks. Nevertheless, the race became memorable due to the emergence of a new victor, Chris Buescher, who triumphantly claimed the checkered flag for a well-deserved victory under RFK.

As the Michigan race approaches, the buzz revolves around the remarkable performance of RFK Racing’s Ford cars and their skilled drivers, Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher. A pre-race press conference at Michigan International Speedway offered glimpses into the profound bond between these two drivers and the unwavering support RFK co-owner Brad Keselowski has for his teammate and 2023 Cook Out 400 winner, Chris Buescher.

Buescher is perceived as an underrated driver who is now making strides at RFK Racing. Although Brad clarified that he didn’t bring Chris onto the team, he recognized Chris’s talent and praised his humble approach to building a successful team.

When questioned about Chris’s development this year, Brad Keselowski opened up. Brad believed that Chris’s potential was hindered by inadequate equipment in the past, but now, they are fully committed to providing top-notch resources.

“The roots are all there for him to be successful, and I felt like for a while that he was held back by the equipment that wasn’t on par with his level of talent. I’m fully committed to making sure that we have that level of equipment across all aspects of our business” he added.

Overall, having Chris on board has been beneficial for everyone, and Brad considered themselves fortunate to have him as part of the team. “I think we’re lucky to have Chris, and it’s been good for everybody” Brad remarked.

The Richmond race may have had only one caution, but it still offered thrilling action, especially in the closing laps. But Buescher’s win meant a lot more than an underrated driver taking precedence in the NASCAR nation.
