It is officially 2023, and in just under a couple of months, the NASCAR season will begin. This upcoming season will most likely be more anticipated than others. Mostly because several drivers are switching teams and there are a couple of returning drivers joining the paddock. One of the biggest storylines is that of Kyle Busch leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and joining Richard Childress Racing. The other one is Jimmie Johnson, returning to NASCAR with Petty GMS Motorsports as a driver/owner.

In the buildup to the first race of the season, one had to wonder what was in store for everyone. Aside from Busch and Johnson, Tyler Reddick heads to 23XI Racing. Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger moves to the Kaulig Racing team on a full-time basis. Ryan Preece makes a return to the Cup Series, this time for Stewart-Haas Racing. Ty Dillon moves to Spire Motorsports from Petty GMS, while Noah Gragson and Ty Gibbs graduate to the Cup Series.
