In a spot of news that no one saw coming, 23XI Racing dropped a massive bombshell. To be precise, they are recruiting Tyler Reddick into their squad. However, Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace need not be too alarmed, because Reddick will be with the team for the 2024 Cup season. Without a doubt, the Richard Childress Racing driver will be riding on a high, especially after his Cup win at Road America.

Now, it seems that there was more good news in store for the driver. Naturally, many fans were pretty much taken aback at this news. Nevertheless, they were mostly thrilled and declared that he deserved the seat. Conventional wisdom suggests that 23XI Racing could either use Reddick as a third driver or if Kurt Busch retires, a replacement. It is also worth mentioning that Reddick and Bubba Wallace get along pretty well with each other.

According to a number of fans, a silly season for the upcoming year was one thing. However, 23XI Racing kicked off the 2024 edition of the silly season, and Reddick is the first puzzle piece.

One thing is for sure, many in the community were excited when the news dropped and was happy for Tyler Reddick.

How did Richard Childress Racing take the Tyler Reddick announcement?

In a statement, RCR confessed that they were happy for their driver. In addition to that, they were proud of all the success that he had achieved for them. However, the team admitted that the announcement comes at a pretty bad time for them.

Unfortunately, they did not elaborate on why it was a bad time for them. One would assume that they were not thinking about their immediate future.

Now that the announcement is out in the open, RCR will have to hunt for a replacement. At the same time, they will possibly try and make Reddick’s final season with them as successful as possible. The 26-year-old became hot property after his Road America win, and 23XI Racing was the first to react. It was a matter of time before a big deal came swooping in, but this was sooner than expected if we’re being honest.
