Along with all the thrill that comes with racing, the NASCAR world is full of surprises. Fans seem to enjoy every bit of racing as well as the drama that has anything to do with their favorite drivers. The recent incident between Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski caused quite a stir in the fraternity. While some fans had a good laugh about it, one of NASCAR’s own revealed it to be the reason behind Hamlin losing the race.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin and RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski were involved in a hilarious and embarrassing incident. After the Atlanta race, Keselowski headed straight toward the nearby porta-potty. Right after him was Hamlin. Both were unaware of one other’s situation and landed themselves in a fix. Keselowski in a hurry missed locking the door and Hamlin, finding the door unlocked, went inside. Although Hamlin got out immediately, he later joked about it smelling like ‘Hawawiian Rolls’ inside.

How come this was the reason Denny Hamlin lost the race?

In a recent episode of the ‘Door Bumper Clear’ podcast, NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin had something to say about the incident along with others.

They had young driver Chandler Smith as a guest who competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and part-time in the Cup Series driving for Kaulig Racing.

While they were having some fun talking, they got around to the topic of a bathroom joke. Smith teased Griffin as he was in the bathroom earlier. Griffin hilariously replied, “I was peeing. I was not doing number three. It’s not yellow.”

To which Chandler Smith replied, “Oh. Hawaiian rolls?”

Everyone, including TJ Majors, Freddie Kraft, and Casey Boat, poked fun at Griffin. But he replied, “Well, Yeah, Hawaiian rolls. I still cannot get over the fact that you open a porta Potty door and somebody’s sitting with a helmet on taking a s**t. But that’s why he lost the race as well is what I figured out. I think he just likes to be in the car.”

He said, “I’ve never peed or done anything in my suit in my 18-year career, never, hand to God on that, never done it. But I was so uncomfortable at the end of Atlanta, that I wanted to let it go.”
