The much-anticipated Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway came to a grand conclusion. Denny Hamlin‘s nemesis and NASCAR’s most polarising driver, Ross Chastain, clinched his maiden victory of this season. Despite trying his best, Hamlin had to be content with a third place, just behind his teammate, Martin Truex Jr.
After the race, the 42-year-old veteran made a startling confession about the Joe Gibbs Racing team and their equipment despite leading the pack for almost 50 laps during the final stage. With his veteran teammate finishing ahead of him and his bitter rival Chastain taking home the victory, a frustrated Hamlin vented out his disappointment as he pointed to his #11 Fed Ex Toyota for falling short.

Denny Hamlin publically names JGR’s sub-par equipment as the cause of his loss
Ever since its entry into the NASCAR scene, the world’s largest automobile manufacturer, Toyota, has captivated the racing community with consistency and solid fundamental values. This directly reflects in their performance. While Chevrolet and Ford have been in the scene since NASCAR’s nascent days (1950 and 1955 respectively), a comparatively recent addition since 2004, Toyota, has edged out Ford to be the second-best manufacturer for this season.
Forefront in their NASCAR campaign is Joe Gibbs Racing’s 4 Toyotas with veterans DH and Treux Jr leading the team. While Hamlin was a major player going into the race, his brief status being the leader of the pack came short when the #1 driver, Chastain capitalized on the neck-and-neck battle between the teammates, Truex Jr and Hamlin.
Despite coming home third, Hamlin was quick to analyze the race and blame his team for their inadequate equipment. He said, “I just think we had you know a third-place car, really the entire race I thought that #19(Truex Jr) was a little better, the #1(Chastain) obviously came on strong there at the end and so that’s all we have with our Fed Ex Toyota.”
